The Republicans are waging an unprecedented war on women.
I wish Congressman Akin’s indefensible “legitimate rape” comments were just an isolated incident but this is really just another sad chapter in the GOP’s extreme right-wing agenda. The Republicans are now acting stunned by the Congressman’s statement, but we need to ask them: Where was your outrage when Todd Akin and Paul Ryan supported legislation to redefine rape to the made-up phrase of “forcible rape”?
It’s clear a GOP-controlled Congress will stop at nothing to take women back to the dark ages. But, we can stop them.
Fighting back starts right here and right now with electing more [women/democrats] to Congress. The next 48 hours are critical for [insert democrat candidate] ’s campaign. [insert democrat candidate] is a top target of nearly every shady right-wing outside group intent on keeping the Republicans in power. Before we elected President Obama and passed health care reform, being a woman was a preexisting condition. We have fought too hard for the progress we have made on women health and women’s rights to let the GOP-controlled Congress turn back the clock. We cannot go back.

And anyone sensible reading that has just learned they cannot trust the Democrats, because no intelligent person could believe that the Republicans have the kind of “rape policy” she is implying.
