Way off topic, sorry! I just read Uncle Tom’s Cabin for the first time. WHERE did people get the idea that Tom was a weakling? That was one of the strongest characters I have ever read in literature!
Back to the convention...sorry. Every time I hear “Uncle Tom” now, I wonder if the person speaking has read the book and knows how great the character was.
