While I realize a headline can only be so long, one must wonder why ‘they’ manage to mangle it and mislead the readers.
To read the headline, one would conjure up an image of a bicyclist being shot by a mean old pick up truck driver - AT LEAST it wasn’t an SUV - then ‘they’ could have thrown in Assault Weapon.
This society raised on sound bites and USA Today will never know that
A., the bicyclist caused the accident and
B. the bicyclist assaulted the driver and
C. the driver was apparently acting in self defense - NOT the suggested aggressor.
This should be reported on national networks and cable news channels. Let it be a lesson to the bike riding public.
