1. Dazzling At least a quarter of Americans still dont know who Paul Ryan is, and only about half who know and have an opinion of him view him favorably. So, Ryans primary job tonight was to introduce himself and make himself seem likeable, and he did that well. The personal parts of the speech were very personally delivered, especially the touching parts where Ryan talked about his father and mother and their roles in his life. And at the end of the speech, when Ryan cheered the crowd to its feet, he showed an energy and enthusiasm thats what voters want in leaders and what Republicans have been desperately lacking in this campaign.
2. Deceiving 3. Distracting

What struck me when I watched the speech, aside from the content, was how young and ‘fresh’ Ryan is, how full of genuine hope and energy. Obama had his faux hope the last election and was running against an old man that not even Sarah could pull across the finish line in front, especially since she was being actively sabotaged. This election, the ‘Old Man’ is Obama with his old ideas that don’t work, his old rhetoric, his wornout, exhausting class warfare and race-baiting. Biden is a millstone around Obama’s neck - a past-prime Dem with delusions for 2016 who does not look up to the task of VP, much less president.
Youth, energy, class and good ideas are on the Republican side this year .... I hope it is enough.
“Libs were going crazy on twitter”
Crazy enough for suicide I hope.
You know you hit the target when this is the reaction. Like a wounded, cornered animal, we are hearing The final screams of an animal knowing its time is up.
Watch out for the thrashing tail, though.
Ryan had me at “AC/DC to Zeppelin”.
(Sent from my handheld, telephone-email-texting-camera-internet surfing-GPS-calendar-Classic Rock and Roll playing-digital device.)
Ryan’s speech was the best of the convention and after tonight’s speeches, I may STILL say that tomorrow. Santorum’s is a very close second.
Paul Ryan was 100% telling the truth, and Sally Kohn is a lying piece of garbage.
Here is the link to the official statement put out by Standard & Poor's a year ago upon the downgrade. Money bullet points, emphasis mine:
-We have lowered our long-term sovereign credit rating on the United States of America to 'AA+' from 'AAA' and affirmed the 'A-1+' short-term rating.
-We have also removed both the short- and long-term ratings from CreditWatch negative. The downgrade reflects our opinion that the fiscal consolidation plan that Congress and the Administration recently agreed to falls short of what, in our view, would be necessary to stabilize the government's medium-term debt dynamics.
-More broadly, the downgrade reflects our view that the effectiveness, stability, and predictability of American policymaking and political institutions have weakened at a time of ongoing fiscal and economic challenges to a degree more than we envisioned when we assigned a negative outlook to the rating on April 18, 2011.
-Since then, we have changed our view of the difficulties in bridging the gulf between the political parties over fiscal policy, which makes us pessimistic about the capacity of Congress and the Administration to be able to leverage their agreement this week into a broader fiscal consolidation plan that stabilizes the government's debt dynamics any time soon.
-The outlook on the long-term rating is negative. We could lower the long-term rating to 'AA' within the next two years if we see that less reduction in spending than agreed to, higher interest rates, or new fiscal pressures during the period result in a higher general government debt trajectory than we currently assume in our base case.
Anyone can read this and very easily understand what a liar Sally Kohn is.
They retweet this Patton Oswalt 1000’s of time. Other use terms like ‘on Fox News no less’. “Wow from Fox news!?”They youth are deeply stupid.
True. Marxism is old and existed long before Marx. But changing to a communist government is a new concept for young people who are fooled by stupid, silly slogans like Hope and Change.
Mind if I steal your “sent from” line? That’s funny!
So fair & balanced allows for letting liars to have their voice in “print”?
Ryan’s music choices: AC/DC to Zeppelin”
Obama’s music choice: Muslim call to prayer.
Enuff said.
Twitter is a bunch of celebrities and celebrity followers. Part of the gossip and fame whore generation. MOST of Twitter users aren’t even in America. Childish bunch of nonsense.
Sorry but I find the entire Twitter world to be annoying.
“...how full of genuine hope and energy.”
There is a repeated message of people/individuals “building businesses on their own”. Each speaker has their own experience, or describes someone that has succeeded. I’m sure that was planned but it’s also very uplifting to hear these success stories.
Heck...it makes me want to go out and start a business.
ETA:
Annoying and like most of the social/gossip media very left of center.
As one who is in the ranks of the unemployed, I am thinking along these lines .... but it definitely won't happen if Obummer gets another 4.
I hope Sally doesn’t take herself seriously as a fact checker. She’s so in the tank with Obama she doesn’t even try to hide it. What the heck is Fox doing hiring people of such low integrity?
Sally Kohn is a typical far-left bull dyke. Who cares what this heeshee thinks? Should stick to parsing Virginia Woolf poems.
It’s yours! (original credit to Sarah Palin)
I’m having a T-shirt made with that line.
