Video shows LAPD officers bodyslamming woman onto pavement
Daily Mail ^ | 29 August 2012

A shocking video shows the moment two Los Angeles Police Department officers apparently grabbed a female motorist and bodyslammed her twice to the ground in a parking lot.

Michelle Jordan, a 34-year-old mother and registered nurse, sustained horrific bruising and cuts in the attack, which took place after she was pulled over for talking on her mobile phone. The brutal arrest was captured by a surveillance camera after the officers followed her car into a Del Taco restaurant parking lot in the Tujunga area on August 11.

Officials told the Los Angeles Times that Jordan had ignored the officers' orders to stay in her car and began arguing with them.

On the video, obtained by NBC4, she is seen getting out of the car before she is knocked to the ground by one of the officers...

End of the story.

More like, just the beginning.

Cops have to deal with human debris all the time while putting their lives on the line.

Well, this is true. However, I don't usually see them slamming the human debris to the pavement like they did this woman.

They have little patience for people disobeying express orders.

So... due to their lack of patience, their lack of ability to deal with the public, their lack of ability to discern the difference between 'cell-phone' use and 'armed criminals eluding police', this gives them the RIGHT to BRUTALLY ABUSE a FEMALE instead of just asking her to get back in her car , or just put her in handcuffs ?

A couple years ago, Orlando cop Travis Lamont body slammed this predator to the ground and broke his neck. The victim was just awarded $880,000.

You can just see the evil in his eyes that triggered the finely honed Spidey senses in Officer Lamont to defend himself against this monster. I'm sure much the same was running through the minds of two of LA's finest as they grappled with how to contain a 30yo nurse.

That is so true. When my husband was a meter reader, he was subjected to robberies, killer bees, rattlesnakes, live wires, angry people with service cut off, etc. On a daily basis.

Meanwhile, the local cops sit around and don’t even respond to burglaries or car accidents anymore. Yet, just let one of their holinesses die on the job, and gazillions are pumped and grifted from the taxpayers and other unsuspecting dupes.

If a cop cannot handle some arguing people without brutalizing them, then they need to get another job! Where the hell is there stress training?

How do we know that this wasn't one of those foul mouthed domestic goddesses that incite anger? Look at how she comes out of the car toward the officers and its obvious her mouth is in high gear. And what would cause both officers to high five after throwing her into the car? Was she foul mouthing the officers to the point of anger? Maybe the officers were using restraint. (Flame suit on). I have encountered many of these privileged harpies and wished I could have done the same to them.

..and by the way, shouldn’t this put to rest the accusation that cops are “rayciss”

What 'rayc' were the cops ?

I don’t disagree with your comments.

My only point is that I REALLY hate attempts by the media to manipulate an emotional response to a given issue. We saw it with Rodney King, Travon Martin, and perhaps this woman as well.

As you said, the cops acted like punks. however, if this woman also acted the part, I want to know that too.

Amazing - they don’t do squat to the useless idiot occupiers but they apparently see fit to slam a cuffed, defenseless woman to the ground.

Another good reason to always carry a video camera with me.

there was no cause for beating up the woman.

Yes there was. (/sarcasm). She 'challenged' their authority. Considering that police have had to deal with that kind of challenge for ....oh.... 200 years, you would think they would have developed some techniques for handling that in a more professional manner.

Oh no, was the poor guy paralyzed??!! That’s just sick.

These days remind me of those photos of the Communist Chinese (or, in any Communist country), lining up the people and shooting them in the head.

It’s these folks like this that will encourage the TSA and the gestapo forces being cultivated in this country to pit government against people and they will willingly accept it. There is no point in arguing it with them. They are long gone in the fantasy of wanting to be a government master or they already belong to that growing “in” crowd ready to control the sheep they feel so much better than. They walk amongst us and couldn’t make it in a real job likely. Heck some, albeit a few only, walk in pixels right here. Tyranny is easy from the safety of the keyboard.

Be ready is all I can say. I am.

Just wondering what actions would precipitate the cops actions...

I agreed with Covenantor; the cops acted like punks. But why (apparently) alter the video?

If this woman also acted like a fool, I want to know that too. If we find out she spit in their eyes, or tried to head- butt them, or knee them in the groin I'm not going to excuse the cops, but neither am I going to expend alot of "feeling" towards her.

If she did nothing, that's a different story.

So why edit the video? That's all I'm sayin...

Uh, those weren’t my comments. They were excerpts from NBC Los Angeles quoting Chief Beck.

It’s rare that a Division Commander is hauled out one day after an event, reduced in grade and pay immediately. Might show that the division has serious problems.

You can’t hear what she is saying to the cops.

TRUE, and most likely the REAL REASON they LOST THEIR COOL and MANHANDLED her.

The question is, given the actual situation, why couldn't these COPS, these TWO MEN figure out how to deal with an argumentative female, other than by beating her to a pulp?

I'm sure nothing she said could have been any worse than what they hear (and SEE) in the streets of LA every day.

Besides, let's get to the bottom line on this. I see it going on more and more. LET'S ADMIT THE TRUTH.

In order to deal with the worst of society, LE officers are turning more and more to steroids, and then get in situations where their RAGE goes OUT OF CONTROL.

We take away Olympic Athletes MEDALS for DOPING, but NOT A SINGLE LE Agency tests their officers for steroid abuse.

I view them as hostile tax collectors as a business man. Get broken into and watch how little response you get. ‘To Protect and Serve’ is long gone even on the side of the cars they drive on my dime.

Like two cops who simultaneously give contradictory orders in a parking lot and shoot the victim for disobeying one of them, it did not matter which one.

There are so many “being cultivated,” perfect words. Not only the ones poisoning our skies, the soil and water — and committing slow kills on us, but the ones who will be “piloting” the drones that — at best, spy on us, at worst, well...

They’re training with Blackhawks in how many cities now? Hanging out of the helicopters in full Ninja-gear like we are under a military coup or something.

“I was only following orders.”

There are so many stories, but I remember the one from around Dec./Jan — the rogue park ranger in a newly-established national park area near SF. Tazed a guy for walking away from her because he had a dog off-leash. In typical fed bureaucracy fashion, she was moved/promoted to a better park. I am no longer friends with those who defended her behavior.
