LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Two Los Angeles Police Department officers are under investigation stemming from a use of force incident caught on tape showing a woman being slammed to the ground twice, once while in handcuffs.

Michelle Jordan, 34, of Sunland was pulled over last Tuesday on Foothill Boulevard and Saluda Avenue for a cellphone violation. She drove into a Del Taco restaurant parking lot, where the incident was recorded on surveillance video.

The married mother, who works as a registered nurse, got out of her car. Moments later, the video shows her being slammed to the pavement and handcuffed. The officers picked her up, put her against the patrol car and patted her down. Nearly two minutes later, the two officers pushed her down to the ground a second time. She was pulled back up and placed in the back seat of the cruiser. She was cited for resisting arrest.

Things have sure changed in the last 10 years. We all used to hold all police officers in high esteem.

Man, that looks like it hurt. Not only slammed her to the ground with her hands behind her back but she slid along the pavement....twice!! I’m surprised she doesn’t have more serious road rash.

A simple cell phone violation. Unbelievable! This is on top of another police brutality incident last week also in L.A.

I hope both of them sue like hell which I’m certain they will.

The police thought they were safe beating up a blonde.

Payday is coming for this woman.

It’s what happens when a Gestapo/KGB mentality takes over LEO.

Engagement/interface with LEO is to be avoided at all costs.

The officer’s Commander has been suspended (and he may be demoted...) for failing to report the incident more than a week after he first viewed the video tape...

I think that Fullerton episode where these cops beat a homeless man to death while he yelled for help and G-d. That has to be the most despicable incident yet. But then, it’s the LA syndrome.

The portions of the tape shown only show the cops as being the heavies; I’d like to see the whole tape shown all in one dose before coming to judgement.

That said, LA Cops (and I once lived in Foothill Division jurisdiction) have a reputation for not taking any crap from anybody at any time.

First of all, don’t get out of the car unless requested. Second of all, fire both officers. Why is this kind of behavior so common? Why are our police so militarized and aggressive?

I watched the video... the little fist bump by the officers (after hurting this woman) speaks volumes.

” Union PIGS.”

If I had to guess, I think unions have badly damaged the police in numerous ways, thuggery being one of them.

I was taught in driver’s ed many years ago that if you’re stopped by cops, find your driver’s license and have it ready as a courtesy. You can’t do that anymore because they might kill you thinking you are going for a gun. Stay in the car and keep your hands on the wheel. These guys should be fired and charged.

Indeed. Roll down your window and keep your hands on the wheel. If it’s dark, turn on your dome light. When asked for documents, first ask if you can unbuckle your seat belt. Then, one at a time, indicate where your documents are, and ask if you can retrieve them. Do everything you can to put the officer at ease. Oh yeah, and fire these thugs.

What do you suppose 'the whole tape' could reveal? A handcuffed woman being pile-driven to the pavement is damning no matter what else may have occurred.

She is shown against the car, then thrown/ridden down. What could she possibly have done up against the patrol car to 'justify' riding her down face first to the pavement?

The little fist-bump at the end will absolutely guarantee the taxpayers get to pay a large settlement for the actions of these vermin.

Suing the officers personally and taking their homes is the only thing that will bring this rising tide of BS to an end.

When the only 'consequences' are that someone else pays out, the thug mentality will stay entrenched.

Not sure, but this is California, there are some ballot measures coming up that government employees unions really do not like. There are a lot of public employees including even school teachers who are just plain hostile to the public because we are finally wising up to what their unions are doing to our state. I don't worry so much about the school teachers with bad attitudes about this as I do the public employees who carry guns and clubs.
