[To me, as a kid growing up Sgt. Preston was a brawny state cop from NJ who hunted with my dad every fall up in Vermont. His official handle was *Sgt. Preston* ... Dad liked to needle him b/c he always complained that he was cold...and nicknamed him....*Sgt. Preston of the Yukon.*

Have fond memories of sitting around the crackling pot belly stove in the parlor while our stinky wool socks dried and listen to the men regale stories of the north woods. Sgt. Preston shot a black bear and every year he added to the story to make it sound more adventurous. Good times.]
