A St. Paul police officer under investigation for possible brutality has one disciplinary action in his personnel file since joining the force in 2009.

Officer Jesse Zilge was given an oral reprimand for improper procedure. But police files made public today didn't include details of what led to the reprimand.

Zilge's file also included seven commendations, including two letters of recognition from Chief Thomas Smith. No details were available on those, either.

A citizen video made public Wednesday showed Zilge kicking a man as he lay on the ground while being arrested Tuesday evening. He's been put on paid administrative leave.

I saw this on local Miami tv, it is in the New York Daily News, and I suspect it is in other outlets too. Anyone else get the feeling these stories are being focused upon to help rile up Obamugabe's urban base before the election?

The guy was beating up his girl friend but asking a woman to pay for her own birth control pills is a war on women.

The cops, cop wannabes, and cop apologist are all saying the kick was justified use of force and to the chest. I didn't think that was what I saw so I went back to the tape. Here is the critical moment and I don't think there's anyway you can say that's to the chest: I'm betting the guy gets paid big time and the cop is either officially reprimanded or fired, or at least that's what should happen. Oh, by the way, yeah it sounds like the guy on the ground is a real scumbag. It doesn't matter in this instance. The cop was way out of line and if he's not punished the incident will further ramp up the hate, mistrust, and fear the public, minorities in particular, already has of cops.
