” Asked if they had ever been raped, 31 percent of those raised by lesbian mothers and 25 percent of children raised by gay fathers answered yes, compared to eight percent of those from intact biological homes.”
Those numbers all seem high by a factor of 10 or more. Maybe I have just lived a sheltered life, or maybe the results are skewed by “womyn” who say all sex is rape.

they all seem very believable to me. I would like to see the rape numbers from children of single parents who are raped by the boyfriend of the mom. It might be almost as bad as the rape numbers from the gay families.

They do seem high. As you say, perception may be at work here - some people who feel a compulsion to be promiscuous later feel the sex was actually “rape” (they did not really want to engage in it but didn’t let the person know.)

Yea, first thing I thought while reading this article is all those numbers sound VERY high, maybe a factor of 4. I'll admit I don't know everything about everyone I know, but through my life I've only met 3 people who I know were actually raped. (Only one of them forceful, others were boyfriends going too far for comfort.) Then a couple others I heard about at college, stupid frat boys and drunk chicks.
Well a quick Google search shows several studies thinking 18-20% of the populace has been raped.. HOLY CRAP that is ridiculous.. I don't know how they get that number, ever from their other numbers. (~90k reported per year, 1 in 4 rapes is reported.) So if we assume an average age of 40, 40*90k = 3.6M. divided by 300M, we have 1.2%. Even with the 1in4 reports, that still only gets to 5%. So that's pretty rough, but still not close, especially since all my numbers are rounded in favor of more rapes (FBI estimates 1in3 reported, Wikipedia median age is 37).
