BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) -- Three Idaho residents were electrocuted in an irrigation ditch - a woman after apparently trying to rescue a dog and two men who went into the water in an attempt to rescue her.
Bingham County officials found the bodies in the water Thursday about three miles northwest of Blackfoot.

When I was a kid we had a dog...a German Shepard named “Daphne”.I truly loved her but,as an adult at least,I cannot see myself risking my life or allowing anyone else to do so to rescue a pet.Pets are great and very important...but not *nearly* as important as any human.

Save my dog first. Then take him to the vet to make sure he is OK, and then to the groomer to get him cleaned up.
After that, I’d go back to save Ayers. :)

Story doesn’t say what happened to the dog?

An irrigation pump in the area had shorted out and was sending a current through the water, Crowley said.
Just Damn.

.but not *nearly* as important as any human. 'Any human'? Might take issue with that one. . .
Whatever; some might say 'stupid'; but these people passed the 'highest humanity' challenge; sadly it cost them their lives.
