You’re right, but can you imagine...if Clint only read that act a couple of times prior, and was to rely on the teleprompter and it froze on page 1, how many 82 year old guys could ad lib for 12 minutes totally on his own? Even with the few stumbles and miscues, it was a masterful performance.
