How about the Mormon apostate, a former employee of Romney, whom Bishop Romney approached when she had her son outside of marriage, asking her to give the child up to adoption? (She described this as basically saying to give up the child to the LDS. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mormons ran the adoption agencies in Utah too.) When she refused, she claims he told her there would be consequences (Mormon excommunication).
I guess it depends on which narrative you want to believe.
The LDS employes “love bombs” to get people into the church, and then they practice shunning of apostates, even pressuring entire families to cut off contact with a Mormon who has left the fold.
