As another FReeper observed it was a calculated performance by Eastwood. There were subtle signs I saw last night, and couldn’t quite believe until finding a confirmation here, that Clint was following a prepared script playing a fuddy duddy, the kind that many seniors in the audience would identify with. The result is such that Clint Eastwood defined the campaign for the Bishop, something that 100 TV ads and a dozen too clever by half DC consultants could never do! Brilliant!

One of the numerous threads about this today was an article from American Thinker, or other some such site, that spoke about how an iconic Hollywood actor and director would never show up in public dressed, looking, and acting, as Eastwood did. I agree. I’ve seen him during the year on TV, at golf outings, he always looks impeccable, and was well dressed for the occasion. His dress, his demeanor was part of his schtick.

This was an arranged production. I’m confident of it. The liberal/socialist media and social sites focus on his “dementia”, meaning his appearance and actions, but they completely miss what occurred. Some woman tonight on Fox, a DNC analyst, also was way off base. It was scripted, organized, and effective. After all, Eastwood is a long time actor/producer. What else can I say?

Thank you! Clint Eastwood has been an actor for a very very long time. I don't think any actor would feel real comfortable going in front of a huge audience live and on television and just winging it. It was a prepared a scripted skit played just right to not appear to be prepared a scripted. In other words, a great performance by a great actor.
