After falling for two straight months, the number of Americans who consider themselves Republicans jumped nearly three points in August.
During August, 37.6% of Americans considered themselves Republicans. Thats up from 34.9% in July and 35.4% in June. Its also the largest number of Republicans ever recorded by Rasmussen Report since monthly tracking began in November 2002. The previous peak for the GOP was 37.3% in September 2004.

Intersting that the GOP shows about 4% more than the Rats yet the lapdog media polls always way oversamples Rats.
Ride the tide.
As always, bad news for DemocRats is good news for America.
A swing of nearly 12 points from November, 2008. That’s very encouraging.
here’s the money trends:

I really hope this is true, but I don’t know.
If we blow the Kenyan out of the water on election day, I will believe it. Until then, I’ll keep a healthy skepticism and keep working like we are 10 points down.
If so, than how does that affect the polls? Should the sample rate be changed?
[ A swing of nearly 12 points from November, 2008. Thats very encouraging. ]
Yah, especially when most media polls are using the 2008 turnout model.
“I’ll be damned, we’re Republicans!”
Susana Martinez
Are they still polling the dead.
You nailed it. This would make ALL of the current flood of “polls” wrong. Oversampling DemocRATS. This explains why the state run “media” continues to think Barry is unbeatable.
Funny, that’s exactly what popped into my head when I saw this poll. The historical trend is encouraging. Now if we could just stop Rat vote fraud.
Finally, a stimulus for which Obama can honestly claim credit. :)
LOL! Very good!
Interesting, that since the Tea Party started to make gains in the Republican party and influencing it’s governance, it has picked up members. Exactly opposite of the spew coming from the media.
Yeah, and that Democracy Corps just released was a joke in itself with a 6-pt Dem skew but shows a GOP 15-pt advantage with indies 53% to 38%. This would translate to a 57.5-42.5
breakdown on Election Day. How in anybody’s universe does this result in a 49%-47% Obama lead in this poll?
I know the Dems are math challenged when it comes to polling but come on!!
It is nice to know that, once in a while, people act rationally.
I’m not a Pubbie’ but proud that my Dad and most of my family are. The only thing my GOP family hates is the amount of junk mails they receive asking for $$.
The last PPP poll I took I rated my self a black independent, moderate voting republican. hehe
Combine the 12 point identification shift with an apparent enthusiasm gap and you have the makings of a very interesting election, not just for President but for the Senate as well.
This, together with record profits for America’s firearms industry, is just about the only thing for which we can be grateful to Obama.
Ill be damned, were Republicans!
- Susana Martinez
Exactly!
Lots of Americans are reacting to Obama that way.
Then how come there isn’t a Republican running for president?
Another factoid....Democrat voters and dead voters always vote for the same person!!!
Excellent!
Excellent!
That looks great, D! :)

- Viral You-Tubes + Viral EMAILS + Viral Cartoons
- “Barry of the Bungle” must be chugging a lot of “his” WH bier (he used someone else’s recipe) this weekend - his rapid response showed he and his thugs were watching the convention and went bonkers
- Too bad Clint Eastwood cannot get royalties on the millions of views by now.....
- You could see Clint’s smile as the delegates cheered him -
- I see cartonist Ramirez jumped right on it - but FR pulled the thread - copyright problemos -
- I already sent out emails with embedded audio -

Bumpity!
I disagree with the article. In Texas, to vote in the primaries, you must declare for democrat or republican. There is no option. You either declare or don’t vote. In the general, I don’t think there is a requirement for this declaration.
I declared for republican because I wanted to vote for Cruz.
THAT vote does not make me a republican. GHW Bush and GW Bush ended my life as a ‘republican’. I, and my friends and neighbors are CONSERVATIVE. Voting for the republican is voting for the lesser of two evils. And in this election ONE MUST VOTE.
I seriously can’t say this is a good thing; considering how perverted by liberals the Republican Party has become.
Approx. a year ago or so ago a fella that our family knows told me he voted for the bamster, he said to my face “i’m an idiot for doing so” he went on to say that Palin would make a good Pres.
He’s a Union print shop worker.
Just a small example of some realizing how stupid they were.
I got polled by Rassmusen today!
The voice asked if I was registered as a Republican, a democrat, didn’t know, or Independent. I’m not registered in any party, they don’t even have that requirement in my state, so I chose Independent. In any case, I hope the numbers saying democrat fall to an all time low.
Just think, after Obama’s election less than 4 short years ago, the driveby media were writing all kinds of articles and hosting talking head shows on the “Death of the Republican Party” and the democrats being on top for 50 years... Now, here we are.
It started with Rush saying he wished Obama failed, and then the TEA party rose up in righteous indignation, flaming spendthrift democrats at town halls across the country, the November 2010 EARTHQUAKE, and now, perhaps it is the beginning of the death of the democratic party!
We’ve come a long way, baby!
Well, of course it is. What else could it be.
I say, welcome.
Change 'moderate' to conservative, and that would accurately describe me.
BOOYAH!
You better believe it. And it is our job to educate them about conservativism.
Still a lot of work to do.
Our test is turnout this November.
thank you. It could be the youngins getting an eye-opener, butI doubt it.
Self-defining stinks...pelosi thinks she’s a mainstream moderate
Republican and conservative are 2 different things.
These “noobies” are like the afghan army...we train ‘em and they shoot us in the back.
Seen recently in the 2008 election(
approx 5 million Bush crossovers to obama and approx. 5 million stay at home “R-conservatives” - how they came up with these numbers and assumptions, I’ll never know).
Keep the faith, but better to keep your powder dry.
67.8% of all statistics are made up.
