He may have appeared onstage at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night, but teacher Sean Duffy of Austin, Texas, isnt necessarily voting for GOP nominee Mitt Romney come November.
I lean more toward Obama, but I think Im going to vote for someone whos going to be a strong supporter of education and education reform, Duffy, 26, told POLITICO in an interview.
Duffy teaches 11th grade English at Del Valle High School near the Texas capital. Hes also, as POLITICO reported yesterday, the co-star of a save-the-date video inspired by Wes Andersons Rushmore that went viral in 2010. On Thursday night, standing alongside former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Duffy highlighted the importance of technology in education.
I went to speak about education, and Im not really concerned about any of the political issues, he said Friday.
Duffy said hes heard Obama talk some about education he cited the presidents desire to make college more affordable, and that he hasnt necessarily heard the same from Romney but added that hes still waiting to hear more on the subject from both candidates. He wasnt, however, impressed with the education portion of Romneys keynote.

Here’s how the media works. They seek out these private citizens to a.) threaten/put them on the spot and/or b.) embarrass Republicans.
Do you see investigations on people who appear with Obama.
It’s very predictable.
This guy is clearly not voting for Obama, he just doesn’t want to be called a racist by his fellow liberal union hacks.
“...a strong supporter of education and education reform,...”
***
In other words, he wants a president who will give gobs of money to the teachers unions.
Obviously he never met the one and only true, genuine Republican there is. You. Obviously those other Republicans he met and talked to are not
I wonder if any bush has ever BEEN one.
He thinks the people he knows are the ONLY Republicans. And he/they deeply resent the lessors who don’t appreciate the sacrifices they have endured for our sakes.
And to them the only government that matters is the Federal Government. And that is their mental model of the Republican party. Bush and his cabal are the Federal Government. We are state and locals.
I don’t care who he votes for. More to the point, who is Jeb voting for?
26 year old high school academic? Is he out of his diapers yet? Is he still living in his childhood bedroom? He will "lean" to whomever his commie union bosses tell him to. Pathetic, immature jerk!!
GROW UP, PUTZ...USE THE BRAIN GOD GAVE YOu!!!
Is that education that actually works or what we have now? What an idiot. No wonder we have the troubles we have.
“In other words, he wants a president who will give gobs of money to the teachers unions.”

YUP. Just like every brain-dead liberal, this Duffy clown is a lost cause and a waste of body at the convention. If he didn’t learn a damn thing at the convention, he’s a complete imbecile.
A pubric skrewl graduate, teaching pubric skrewl, is an Obama bot. I’m shocked, I tell you. Shocked.
“education reform”
Obviously this person is too clueless to know that sort of thing requires cutting all the useless and counter productive programs and laying off lackluster teachers-if Duffy is one of them, he will likely be peddling the vision of teaching kids about unicorns guarding pots of gold at the end of diversity rainbows someplace else.
Stupid Bushes.
The one that promises to give illegals the best treatment.
I cut Jeb’s boat adrift years ago.
I was never a big fan of the elder Bush. That being said, I think the guy was three times more ‘on the ball’ than his sons were.
Did I agree with him. No. And you don’t really have to, to acknowledge the guy was well qualified to hold the office of President, even if he was wide of the target on a number of issues.
His sons were/are complete dunces. You honestly wonder how they get back home at night safe and sound.
“STAY OUT’DA BUSHES!!!”
Duffy's second mistake. Spanish, Duffy, Spanish.
He's a 26 year old ACADEMIC????? He probably still lives at his PARENT'S HOUSE!!
Jeb’s middle initial is “R” for RINO!!!
NO MORE BUSHS IN THE WH!!
Yeah, this is America, places should have English names like Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Colorado.
The least the GOP could do is find an education booster—if they must have such—for their convention who actually backs their candidate.
But for all the preening that Jeb and Mitt did about their education records, education really shouldn’t be an issue for the president other than to get the federal government out of it.
And that’s not what I heard from either of them.
This is more than some mere coincidence. Sean Duffy is also a Republican congressman from 4th dist WI who defeated Dave Obey one of the masterminds of Obamacare.
We’ll soon see how they’re going to use this
By far, the worst thing Reagan ever did, was choose a vice president.
Jeb wants Romney to lose, so he can win in 2016. Plus, he probably thinks Romney is too conservative.
The Bush family is beginning to make the Clintons look moderate
Anyone linked to the Bush clan, including Marco “La Raza” Rubio...is not a conservative. Bush family liberalism has set the Conservative movement back for years
Duffy didn’t beat Obey, Obey retired.
I know where you’re coming from. When it comes to the globalist One World Order crap Bush was entirely too comfortable with, I certainly agree. His tax hike was a major mistake too. He wasn’t a true example of a Conservative, or even a Republican IMO.
His international ties moderated him. He never did get supply side, or the Capitalist end of things.
Then again, those international ties and his ability to get even Middle-Easter players to sign on to deal with Hussein and his invasion of Kuwait, was something I’d call masterful.
Some folks think he muffed even that by not taking Hussein out. I’m not sure if he made promises up front that resulted in that though.
My take on the situation was that Hussein wanted to run right down the Saudi Arabian peninsula, and gain major control of the oil production in the region.
If you think it was a mistake to engage there, I’d have to disagree. This guy was a real problem. Baited or not, he needed to be dealt with.
I appreciate the comments. Hope we agree on this, but if not I can understand alternative opinions too.
Take care.

I had already forgotten about the oddball Duffy. But Jebbie “talked” about education and never mentioned “No Child Left Behind.” Jebbie also looked like he was quite angry with his party for some strange reason.
Oops, you forgot Sandra Day O’Connor, another AZ liberal.
No, Bush was worse.
