O’Malley: We’re Not Better Off Now
National Jounral ^ | Sept.2,2012 | Jonathan Miller

Posted on 09/02/2012 11:38:04 AM PDT by Hojczyk

Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland, who is considered a possible contender for president in 2016, bucked other Obama surrogates on Sunday, saying that the country was not better off now than it was four years ago.

On CBS's Face the Nation, host Bob Schieffer asked: “Can you honestly say that people are better off today than they were four years ago?”

Responded O’Malley: “No, but that's not the question of this election. The question, without a doubt, we are not as well off as we were before George Bush brought us the Bush job losses, the Bush recession, the Bush deficits, the series of desert wars -- charged for the first time to credit cards, the national credit card.”

Quipped Schieffer: “George Bush is not on the ballots.”

I can't believe it. They're going to run against Bush.

When the economy turns under Romney, the default media will give the credit to Obama. Even if Romney reverses every single thing Obama did (which he won't).

Maryland sure isn't better off with O’Malley.

He has drowned us in debt, taxes, and run off half the millionaires in the state.

O’Malley blames everything on the Bush administration, I suppose he has slept through the Obama tragedy. Double the entire debt of all presidents before him and yet O'Malley blames it on Bush. Who does he blame for turning the Ehrlich Surplus into Billions in debt.

Just keep saying to a Democrat the following words:

Fannie and Freddy, both Democrat programs, are the cause of the housing bubble and a part of the subsequent bank failures and the loss of jobs in all areas. Bush asked Congress 14 times for oversight on Fannie and Freddy, but Congress refused it.

Don’t forget his infamous claim, “I’m more afraid of Bush than terrorists.”

Yeppers, he’s gonna make a GREAT Democommie candidate in 2016! The Left really knows how to groom ‘em!

I always get a chuckle when thinking of the Lib Mayor of NYC or GOV of NY saying (to the effect) “at least the raise in taxes got rid of that nasty Rush Limbaugh”

Rush probably paid enough yearly in (all sorts of) taxes to pay the Mayors and probably the Govs salary for their entire term.

Is the comptroller an elected job in MD?
Sure seems strange to see him coming out against the policies of a D administration.

I think Willie Don did, but that is Schaeffer and he was ‘untouchable’..

The antis seem to be spending more against the Casino at National Harbor also....

Those idiots push this stuff through then want to change the rules in the middle of the stream...see where the Casino in Perryville seeing some rough times, that one off the Parkway biting into their profits...

“he’s gonna make a GREAT Democommie candidate in 2016!”

We can only hope!

My poor kid just had to move to Md. for her job, leaving the great state of VA, where she’s been very happy for about 8 years.

Wait’ll she sees her tax bill, that ought to be fun.

Yep, the Republican party that couldn’t come out full force against Obama, is about to get skewered on every single point the Democrats can think up, and I’m not just referring to reality here. Get ready for the most vile commentaries we’ve seen in decades. This group has no class whatsoever.

I will be watching and documenting this. If I can, I’ll download every bit of it. I love it when vile people go on the record.

He’s going to have to walk that back even though he tried to make it Bush’s fault. Obamatons are required to stay on message.

A modest note to Martin O'Moron: WE in Maryland are not better off thanks to your crappy administration.

If you ever try to run for President, you have my promise to dog you from place to place telling everyone just how big a failure you are.

No kidding. Those dumb Maryland voters had a budget in the black and employment the highest in the country and then they dumped Earlich. WTF? O’Malley has destroyed the state. However, I still think he will run for President in the future. O’Malley DEFINITELY wants Obama to lose so Romney wins and then he can run against him. It is MUCH harder to run after 2 elections of the same party. I don’t think we have seen a 3 same party President type since the 80’s.

They are so dumb with these casinos. First of all they changed the rules about taxes so the PG County can get a casino after Arundel Mills just opened a pretty big one. They have absolutely no vision when thinking of programs and other things.

Louis Goldstein was the last great Comptroller in Maryland./

Everyone since then has sucked.
Schaeffer was just a token, a job for an old man who should have been gone.
