"Obama is toast. "

I had lunch with a married couple that I've been friends with for 32 years. I worked with the wife. I'm a female, and we are all retired, and in our 60's. Of course our conversation reverted to politics, and I brought up Clint Eastwood's presentation at the RNC. I told them I wasn't crazy about Romney, but the thought of another 4 years of Obama had caused me to believe that I had to vote for the Romney/Paul ticket. From some of their comments, I said: "Please don't tell me you're going to vote for Obama," and they said "yes", that they were leaning toward voting for him. I almost fell off my chair.

I asked them what he had done these past four years that would actually cause them to vote for him, and they couldn't name one thing. I gave them plenty of reasons for not voting for Obama, but they looked at me like I was making it all up. It was obvious to me that they enjoyed being spoon-fed the lies of the main stream media.

There was another older couple sitting at the table next to us. The husband had gotten up from the table, and I said to the lady: "We're talking politics, something they tell you never to do." She replied: "That's okay, I agree with everything you said." It was so funny.

It's a shame that my friends feel the way they do. The wife and I were among a handful of female correction officers who went to work in an all-male maximum security prison in 1980. Her husband is a Navy veteran from the Vietnam era. You'd think they'd have more sense than take the media seriously. They're nice people, but dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to politics. I am praying they see the light before election day.

The ‘secret’ to prosperity has been well known since 1776. Individual liberty and equality before the law are required for a nation to flourish. This seems to have eluded the ‘most enlightened President in History”

“everybody who’s working hard to get into the middle class”
That’s the biggest joke of all:Obama’s ultimate goal is to destroy the existing middle class while cynically promising
today’s lumpenproletariat (the unemployed/unemployable masses of college students ,”minorities”, and immigrants) that they will soon be able to exchange roles with that middle class
Obama is helping fade away.
See, you can only have one middle class at a time.

They may be people who are going to vote for Obuma no matter what because he’s black.

I’ve met a few older people who feel that way. In some cases (I’m sure not all) it’s because they were somewhat racist in their views forty or fifty years ago. They feel that by voting for Obuma they can “get right.” Expiate guilty feelings they harbor from long ago.

I believe at least one member of my own family is in this catagory.

What secret sauce where you on when you gave this if its true:

From Sunday’s 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, Televised “Meet the Press”

THE THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.
General Bill Gann’ USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn’t follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...

During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, “Stand and Face It”.

NOW GET THIS !!

‘Senator ˜Obama replied:

“As I’ve said about the flag pin, I don’t want to be perceived as taking sides”. “There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression..” “The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing.”

Obama continued: “The National Anthem should be ‘swapped’ for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song ‘I’d Like To Teach the World To Sing’. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it.

In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as ‘redesign’ our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It’s my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren.

If we, as a Nation of warring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ......”

When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations ofIslam, an unfair injusticewhich is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past”.

“Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path. My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country’s First black Family. Indeed,CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America “

Anyone else recall seeing this? I for one am astonished this never brought any attention, and disappointed that McCain as a vet would let this go unchallenged if its true.

“President Obama [said] that he would provide a more detailed and effective “path forward” for the economy than his rival, GOP nominee Mitt Romney. “

This is so mockable that the Romney campaign should already be making commercials to air the same night as the DNC.

Is Obama really so stupid that’s he’s going to say that “I haven’t done sh*t for the ecomony in three and a half years, but now I suddenly have a plan.”?

Romney should be poising this question at every stump speech, “Mr President, if you have a plan to fix the economy, why the hell haven’t you already implement it?”

"They may be people who are going to vote for Obuma no matter what because he’s black."

Could be, but it's also possible that they are Democrats, and can't see themselves ever voting for a Republican candidate. Now that I think of it, I recall them saying they were thinking about voting for Hillary if she was nominated. It's funny, because my friend said her father had been a die-hard Republican. And in my family, my father (a railroad worker and member of the union), told us we all had to vote Democrat. In my Dad's case though, I know if he were alive today, he wouldn't recognize the Democrat party, and would probably be a Republican now.

But he is going to change! He said he would. Honest. He said he would compromise and that all that stuff that happened was done by somebody else.

It was the dog. Yeah, the dog did it.

Sarcasm off.
