As a woman I mostly discuss politics with my female acquaintances, several of whom are Dems/Liberals. The one thing I have noticed is that they continually stray away from discussing the important issues (or know very little and can't have an in depth discussion) : the economy/lack of jobs, the national debt, our status internationally, and the increasing demoralization of our military (as well as the economic cuts) really don't interest them beyond a few sentances.

So...what do they talk about, what is the most important issue to them and what is it that Obama does to inspire them to support him? Well we know that it's abortion, and same-sex marriage, but lately, and most importantly to them... it's free contraceptives (which is actually funny since we are all in our 60's).

But, I started thinking - this whole free contraceptive topic was a brilliant play by the Democrats. It hit women at the core of their "feely meely, warm and fuzzy" emotional center because selfish, self-centered, shallow thinking women want personal attention more than anything else. So many of them can overlook any sins as long as someone is pretending to care about them. Bingo - it hit me! So...Obama is buying women's votes for the price of $9.00/month - the cost of a box of contraceptives.

These women cannot see that at the same time Obama has INCREASED every other expenditure they have for their household. They are hung up on that idea of Free birth control...believing Obama "understands and appreciates" their needs (and cravings). It is infuriating.

However...if we can not convince women to face the reality of this manipulative ploy, we must find a way to play the same game and win these women over. There must be something the GOP can offer women. Some symbolic item that would save them that costly $9.00 per month and that is every bit as important to them as a box of free condoms.

How about a lifetime supply of chocolates, with a heart-shaped box of sweets sent once a month? The GOP can play St. Valentine to women by making them feel secure and appreciated; satisfying their cravings; giving them something that they associate with love; and appealing to their need to be romanced. That's what the focus of this condom issue is - giving women a false sense of being cared for and about by the Democrat politicians who are all too willing to play them for fools.

Obama reminds me of the sneaky, cheating husband who comes home late with chocolates (or flowers) to try to woo his wife, keep her in line, alleviate her suspicions, manipulate her into passivity, and cover his own guilt. And the women under his spell fall for it every time.

So, Republicans should just buy them off, play the Democrats' game and fool them into believing that their lives will improve if they never have to buy their own chocolates again! They will save so much. It will improve their emotional health. And it will surely show that the GOP cares about their personal lives. Because right now they are so easily being bought off by this absurd promise to save them $9.00 per month! And, I bet any day most women would rather have a box of chocolates than condoms for sex! LOL

“... Pennsylvania Obama won in 08 that I think will go Romney/Ryan.” The Catholic factor alone will swing Pennsylvania which is 53% Catholic. On the demographics alone Romney wins.

i live in Fairfax near the Vienna metro and work in DC and i have been amazed at the LACK of obama signage and how many Romney signs i see at houses that have never displayed any sort of signs before. Even the three houses in my actual neighborhood where i KNOW libs live from past years, i see no obama signs, and i have been pleasantly surprised at how much i see for Romney. I’d never go so so far as to predict a win, bc i do think it will be tight, but my personal observations bear out the polls edging towards Romney. Also, my 18 yo daughter is interning with the Fairfax Co republicans and has been calling and door knocking all summer and she has gotten positive feedback from unlikely places.

My daughter interns in the Fairfax City HQ, she took over a Romney yard sign to our next door neighbor on Friday. He was happy to have it and requested that she get him a Perkins sign as well.

That’s promising and give my thanks to your daughter for her help. I don’t see much signage for either candidate yet, but I see lots of Obama bumper stickers and not many for Romney. Perhaps your neighbors want to do the right thing and finally realize Obama had not lived up to his media billing.

On Saturday i drove on Prosperity Ave from Route 50 to Route 236 and was surprised at the Romney signage i saw, some even HOMEMADE! there was a lone obama sign. i DESPISE gerry connolly. i honestly thought that Fimian had him beat, and i think even Connolly thought so, as he was chastened for maybe 5 minutes or so by the near loss before he went back to being arrogant.
