Ahhh! Laboring over Labor Day! Do you at least get holiday pay? Not trying to be nosey - don't answer if you don't want to. :)

Luv, the more I learn about those who came before me, the more fortunate I feel to have been born in the USA, and in the era that I was. I have pored over many a death certificate and cemetery record - the life that our forebears endured was cruel and capricious. One of my two greats grandfathers, who emigrated from Ireland mid 19th century - had numerous children with his first wife - almost all, except my great grandfather, died in infancy or before adulthood. An absolutely crushing burden to bear. The coal miners up in NE Pa worked under horrendous and perilous conditions - children as young as 8 years old employed as "breaker boys" - their job was to pull bad chunks of coal out of the moving chute - extremely hazardous.

They, among countless others, are the ones who built this Nation.

Thanks, Mac, for the Missing Man Setting as we remember those who have given their all that we may gather safe and secure.

They were tough, they were brave and they LOVED America!

They would have absolutely gone berserk at the way the stupid
people talk about their beloved home that took them in and
helped them become a great generation!

And then began a half-century of Pax Americana. The vanquished nations were restored to prosperity and freedom through our efforts and beneficence. We provided the nuclear umbrella and standing military that guaranteed European and Asian economic development and freedom for the last 50 years. We acted as the World's Policeman and threw our greatest treasure, our young men and women, into the fray time and time again.

The rest of the world owes us big time! Will the debt ever be repaid? Don't hold your breath!

Aloha, Hawaii...((HUGS))...haven’t seen a ray of sunshine all day today. Mid 50s and windy. I think I need my socks.

Any sun for you? Your mainlanders all well?

You are so right...and we are owed big time. Holding my breath, waiting for our country to be repaid, will only mean turning blue.

Aloha again Night Owl! ((HUGS))

Everybody back on the mainland seems happy save one.....and all's going a lot better here now (Thanks to a couple of Angels).

We're back to half rain and half sun but that will all change this month once the Fair opens up. Then it will pour.

WOW, Luv...that was a really cool flight. I like it when the folks on the ground, or on the mountain top, waved.

Thanks!
