Luv, the more I learn about those who came before me, the more fortunate I feel to have been born in the USA, and in the era that I was. I have pored over many a death certificate and cemetery record - the life that our forebears endured was cruel and capricious. One of my two greats grandfathers, who emigrated from Ireland mid 19th century - had numerous children with his first wife - almost all, except my great grandfather, died in infancy or before adulthood. An absolutely crushing burden to bear. The coal miners up in NE Pa worked under horrendous and perilous conditions - children as young as 8 years old employed as "breaker boys" - their job was to pull bad chunks of coal out of the moving chute - extremely hazardous.

They, among countless others, are the ones who built this Nation.

They were tough, they were brave and they LOVED America!

They would have absolutely gone berserk at the way the stupid
people talk about their beloved home that took them in and
helped them become a great generation!
