New experience for Obama: GOP attacks and mockery
Washington Examiner ^ | September 3, 2012 | Byron York

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Why did the Obama campaign fumble the "are Americans better off than four years ago" question?

Why has President Obama been unable to put the "you didn't build that" charge to rest?

And why has the campaign struggled to come up with a coherent response to the Republican convention? (Calling it a pack of lies doesn't count.)

It's hard to avoid the conclusion that, as Democrats begin their convention here in Charlotte, the Obama campaign is not hitting on all cylinders. The question is why a campaign that was so successful in 2008 is sputtering today.

Here's a theory: Barack Obama has never in his life run against a sharp, determined and aggressive Republican opponent. Facing Mitt Romney, who is all three, is a new experience for the president.

Why is the campaign sputtering?

Here's a clue: When the snake oil salesman comes to town the second time, people don't buy his line of "Good for what ails you" BS any more.

The G.O.D. factor is wearing off.
Obama is no longer entirely untouchable.
The Obama ring of protection has become a little bit worn.

Just a little bit.

But it has opened him up to some questioning and criticism that was unthinkable just a year or two ago.

For the first time he and his henchmen are being asked a few direct serious questions and they are shocked to be challenged and put on the spot.

They weren’t prepared for such direct questions in place of the usual softballs and are upset that anyone, other than FOX, would have the temerity to directly question Obama or suggest that his policies have failed.

They have been visiblt shaken by being put on the spot and it is obvious that they are offended and outright indignant that Obama is being subjected to questioning and criticism as if he was just a normal, mortal human being.

Having to send 0 to Louisiana after Romney went was a pretty stunning display of incompetence.

Good point. That was imcompetent, but its been a staple of this adminstration. Results matter and 4 years its clear they have made it worse.

He usually does pretty good but then I usually watch him on Fox. The only time I saw him otherwise do poorly was with Chris Matthews but Matthews was a blathering idiot on his race card agenda and poor Reince took the brunt of that attack and even the others on the set were in SHOCK I think, even Brokaw. Matthews was unhinged more than usual that day.

Going to Chicago a lot this past year. In fact, on the plane now.

We just got a new project in AZ and I may end up there for a while which would be fine with me.

I watched the economic melt down that followed the real estate fall off in 08 unfold with many questions. We still don’t know all the mechanizations in play that September.

We need to keep our eyes open.

There is no defense against mockery and ridicule,
especially when any effective defense would expose concepts that they have to keep hidden.

Let us remember how the MSM operated last time around - through the ‘Jornolist’ conspiracy. No double similar back channels are operational now....

Well, then, he needs to rehearse dealing with rabid, spittle-flying, wildly-gesticulating, insane liberals.

I could have shut Matthews down in about 12 seconds.

Good Lord...I keep staring at that picture and laughing until I’m crying—especially when I get to Biden as the “The Brainless Man”. Whoever created that thing is brilliant!

The simple fact is that McCain never wanted to be President, he just wanted to be the center of attention awhile.

GOP attacks and mockery

My empty chair is still in the front yard.
May leave it there until Romney beats his butt.

I give credit for Reince for the overall tone of the RNC, but the one time I saw him on one of the talk shows, he was a stuttering apology-laden idiot. Keep him in the back room where he can do good.

That's almost exactly what I told my wife yesterday. I don't know why the RNC can't find a true conservative motivational leader. This guy absolutely puts me to sleep when he's on the tube.

That's almost exactly what I told my wife yesterday.

Ergo, I am you.

Where do you work and is your wife cute, for when I pod-capture you and take over your life?

I try not to deal with theory.

It has been reported in numerous political races that the support of the media establishment, local, state, national or international, adds 3 to 5 percent to a candidates final numbers. And that is DOWN from what it was when I was growing up.

The Emperor is an “artificial construct” made by and supported by the media. When it gets down to Republican/Conservative vetting standards used by the media establishment the Emperor isn't even an empty suit.

IMHO, I think this election cycle, 2012, is the first election cycle in the history of the Republic that the media establishment has not been able to hide the faults and failures of their preselected candidate. What it is coming down to is; The established media must make a hard decision - continued blind support of their preselected candidate or their own survival. United opposition by Republicans/Conservatives is only a minor issue.

by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show:

Well there’s gonna be a freakers ball
Tonight at the freakers hall
And you know, you’re invited one and all

Come on babies grease your lips
Grab your hats and swing your hips
Don’t forget to bring your whips
We’re going to the freakers ball

Blow your whistle and bang your gong
Roll up something to take along
It feels so good it must be wrong
We’re freakin at the freakers ball

Where all the fags and the dykes they’re boogyin’ together
The leather freaks are dressed in all kinds of leather
The greatest of the sadists and the masochists too
Screaming “Please hit me, and I’ll hit you”

The FBI are dancing with the junkies
All the straights, are swinging with the funkies
Across the floor and up the wall
We’re freakin at the freakers ball
Yall, we’re freakin at the freakers ball

Everybody’s kissing each other
Brother with sister, son with mother
Smear my body up with butter
Take me to the freakers ball

Pass that roach please and pour the wine
I’ll kiss yours if you’ll kiss mine
I’m gonna boogie till i go blind
We’re freakin at the freakers ball

White ones, black ones, yellow ones, red ones
Necrophiliacs looking for dead ones
The greatest of the sadist and the masochists too
Screaming “Please hit me, and I’ll hit you”

Everybody’s ballin’ in batches
Pyromaniacs striking matches
I’m gonna itch me where it scratches
Freaking at the freakers ball
