From Conservative Strike Force's Allen West Web Page https://www.conservativestrikeforce.com/donate/save_allen_west/

The liberals just created a new George Soros-backed Super PAC. Its exclusive goal is to defeat conservative hero Allen West.

This new Super PAC will spend millions and millions of dollars to defeat this one congressman.

Allen West is in trouble and he needs our help!

Please make an urgent donation of $15, $20, $25, $50, $100, $250 or whatever you can afford to help Conservative StrikeForce PAC's emergency campaign to re-elect Allen West.

Those who were pushing West to run for the presidency did not understand that the man would have a difficult time getting re-elected. There was NO way he could have been nominated or beaten The Disaster.

There ain’t a lot of realism around here.

With all due respect, I believe that thought process is part of or is the problem. We look too much at who is electable and not at the person and his or her views. Allen West is my kind of leader, he is not perfect , but I have to respect a man of honor and virtue.
I wish Allen the best, and will donate to help him.

Listen you dolt....the GOP-e redrew lines after the census and did their very best to make sure that West would have a really lousy district. It is weanies like you that allow that to happen. Man up and donate to this guy to show them it won’t work.

How’s that for realism???

Florida has GOP run statehouse

can a resident explain why they made his district harder for him

sometimes you have to make on Dem to keep more of the other’s GOP

like here in Nashville...Davidson county district will stay Democrat gerrymandered to keep the surrounding all GOP

??

Why would GOP Florida state house not want West in Congress and prefer a Democrat instead?

I cannot speak to the specifics of his district. But . . .

In early 2010, seeing that they were going to lose big that November, the rat legislature got a constitutional amendment on the ballot that requires congressional districts to be drawn so as to neither help nor hurt any political party. The public fell for it.

It guarantees the matter of decennial redistricting will end up in the state courts. Our supreme court is 5-2 whack-job Marxist.

We also have the Voting Rights Act to deal with, which may have had something to do with it.

I hope someone with more info can inform both of us.

We look too much at who is electable and not at the person and his or her views.

Sorry, electability is the number 1 factor to consider. I think my neighbor is right about nearly everything, but he's not electable and would therefore be a silly candidate. Like it or not, being a politician takes skill. Most people do not possess said skill. The public may say they want the "regular guy" to run, but those kind of candidates tend to get shredded and people end up laughing at them rather than voting for them. The more competitive the district the more skill one needs. West is getting good at being a politician, but he is nowhere near ready to run VP or President. For now, lets just make sure we help West win re-election to his congressional district and hope he will be ready for something bigger in the future.

Listen you dolt....the GOP-e redrew lines after the census and did their very best to make sure that West would have a really lousy district.

This conspiracy theory has been floating around for a while.

The fact is it was not realistic to preserve West's old gerrymandered district under the liberal redistricting amendments passed by referendum. Adam Hasner is running as the GOP nominee for that revised district, which is winnable but leans left.

West is running in a neighboring district which contains some of his current constituents and many of Rep. Rooney's current constituents. (Rooney also moved one district over.) The new district is a swing district ~ similar to his current one. Bush won it with 51% in '04, Obama won it in '08.

Falling behind in fund raising, assuming he has, is not the same as falling behind in polling.

Yeah tell West your theory. I listened to him talk about what happened and I’ll take his view. None the less are you going to help support him or noir???

All those folks who hate Romney and are not going to vote for him....will you at least pony up the funds when a good conservative is in need????

If you are trying to win Brownie points then ignore electability. If you are actually trying to affect politics then you cannot.

My dear Hothead, perhaps you can show me how I, having not been in Florida for several years, had anything to do with West’s redistricting problems. Or said anything wrt the Colonel’s presidential prospects differing from what HE has said.

If not, your insulting comment is essentially irrelevant.

Perhaps you are unaware of the U.S. Census which takes place every 10 yrs and the fact that said Census requires districts to be re-drawn.

Given your tendency to fly off the handle I would have to doubt your analysis of that re-districting.

We also have to remember that any re-districting must face federal court approval and empower minorities.
