Bart Stupak was a vital swing vote in the Obamacare debate 2 years ago. As a pro-life Democrat he could not support Obamas signature initiative without some assurance that abortion would not be covered by the monstrous healthcare overhaul.
Following an Executive Order signed by President Obama that supposedly ensured that abortion would not be covered, Stupak declared victory for the pro-life movement. This in spite of the fact that many had said the Executive Order was toothless and would not prevent anything.
It seems Mr. Stupak has finally realized this.

IF he really & truly regretted his vote . . . he’d have shown up at the RNC along with Artur Davis and changed his party affiliation. He doesn’t care.

Bart Stupak always wanted to vote for Obamacare. Stupak simply needed political cover to vote for it. There is no way he was that stupid to fall for Obama’s Executive Order ruse. He knew it was a ruse and everyone else at the time knew it and siad so publicly.
Stupak need a political fig-leaf and Obama gave it to him. The thing Stupak did not count on was that everyone knew what was going on so that political fig-leaf was basically worthless political sellout.

Like most politicians this guy is a sociopath masquerading as someone with a conscience. If his district had been Dearborn instead of Detroit he would have dressed in a burka.

His district wasn't anywhere near Detroit. His was the entire upper peninsula and nearly a third of the lower peninsula. Its the second largest district in the country east of the Mississippi.

Stupak was as willing dupe and is as responsible as anyone for the passage of Obamacare. He gathered the pro-life Dims about him and kept them in a group where they could be manipulated and controlled by Obama, and then their demands ignored once the critical point toward passage in the House had been reached.

One of his legacies will be that whenever I hear of an abortion, I will always think that the child, male of female, could have been named “Bart”.

stupak is a charlatan trojan horse no different from his puppet master. In all likelihood he was there when the community dictator, all lawyered up, was mulling tactics around the abortion conundrum in his obumbumscare. HE, STUPAK, in all probability participated in devising the “executive order” excuse untying the knot for his shameful vote for that hellish monstrosity — and not only for the unborn babies.

I should have known better. I lived in Port Huron for about a year back in the 1970’s. I made some lifelong friends there. I went back there summer before last and we had a little reunion. My adult daughter flew up from Colorado. She had never been there before. She loved the lake, the town and everybody she met. It is archetypal America.
