The Pentagon press secretary, George Little, said on Tuesday that the Defense Department believed there was classified information in a new first-person account of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Mr. Little did not specify what the information was or do more than repeat threats of legal action. The book, No Easy Day, written by a former member of the Navy SEALs, Matt Bissonnette, with a co-author, Kevin Maurer, went on sale on Tuesday. Pentagon officials say Mr. Bissonnette violated nondisclosure agreements he signed with the government, but Mr. Bissonnette and his lawyer say he did not. Penguin, the publisher, is printing 575,000 hardcover copies, placing No Easy Day among the biggest books of the year.

Got the first copy at our local Walmart as the book guy was unloading the boxes to the shelves. During our short conversation three more people picked up copies. The more the Pentagon complains the more people will buy/read the book. One could wonder at their motive.
There’s always a tension between publishers and the DoD but there are rules to follow and that’s as far as the discussion should go. Whether or not the Obama admin leaked something or whether they want something censored has nothing, repeat, nothing to do with whether this book should or should not be published or whether or not it should have been reviewed before publishing.
IOW, 0 is exaggerating his involvement.
That the Obama administration leaked classified information for political gain is bad enough, but the author is a Navy SEAL who should know better.
SEAL operational methods and tactics are classified for a reason. Divulging them endangers other SEAL and SOCOM operations. Just because Obama leaked classified information is not justification for a Navy SEAL to do the same.
Matt Bissonnette is no different than Julian Assange. And he will get his brother SEALs killed by the publishing of this book.
or the NYSlimes has printed....
So, pretty much the WH is pissed because this SEAL took away an exclusive they gave to their hollywierd buddies..
If the book doesn’t describe an Obama jumping out of the helo screaming expletives with explosions going off behind him while he takes out all the sentries (with shots between the eyes) kicks doors down, rescues little children while taking out Osama with a behind the back, hip shot while smoking a cigar and breaking the necks of bad guys with one twist.. then he zips off his uniform to reveal his golf clothes and he jumps back into the plane which jets him back to DC..
Because we all know that’s what really happened.
The White House pressured the Pentagon into this assessment.
There is no evidence the conclusion is objective.
The Pentagon was mouthing these conclusions before ever reading the book.
He wishes LOL You forgot the part about: “make my day!” Empty chairs have got to hurt!
-——The Pentagon was mouthing these conclusions before ever reading the book-—
While that may be true, there were fewer in the pentagon that didn’t read the book then there were in the congress who didn’t read the bill.
An excuse to suppress the scheduled release this month?
Not quite awake. Perhaps that’s sarcasm? Have a great weekend.
