I’d say Obama had little to do with either. The hunt for Bin Laden was initiated under GWB; Obama’s credit is that he didn’t say no and chose to continue the Bush policy. With respect to GM, Ford Motor Company was a very interesting control variable. Obama did nothing for Ford yet Ford is doing as well as GM. Therefore, how can we conclude that the billions Obama spent helped GM?
