The difference is a Texas Peace Officer License. Other than that piece of paper, not much.

How do you get one? When I went to peace officer training in Wisconsin, you had to be sponsored by an agency, and they did not send volunteers, because they had to pay for it.

Beats me. I know several that have them, though, and it can't be too difficult, because they aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree.

You have to be sponsored by an agency in order to get or renew the peace officer license . Volunteers either pay for their own training, or used to work for an agency.
