The problem is and always has been the programming on Nickelodeon - ugly, vulgar, anarchic, disrespectful, endlessly ironic. Not every single show, but far too many.
It’s why we haven’t had cable in fifteen years - not because of the adult shows that are inappropriate for children, but because the children’s shows are not appropriate for children.
Given what messages, overt and subliminal, Nickelodeon sees fit to pour into young minds for hours each day, it’s no surprise that they’d think nothing of this once-removed Twitter feed - it does surprise me that it has not crossed enough parental lines to produce a gale force of objection.
