For about half of the non-religious and liberal Reformed Jews, you're probably right. But for a lot (my guess is half) of Reformed Jews, Israel is something more. And for ALL the politically liberal Orthodox and Reformed Jews (though there are a lot less of them), Israel is much, much more than just a place on a map.
This could be a defining moment among Jewish Democrat voters, much life Ronald Reagan was for Democrat Catholics. Look at how the Catholic vote has split since Reagan. It's no longer a monolith. And judging by my Jewish Romney supporting neighbors, neither is the Jewish vote.
We are so hard on the dems.

I beg to disagree. In the beginning there was G-d, the Creator. That did not start or stop with Christianity. Jerusalem is equally as important to Christians as it is to us. It is the fulfilment of YOUR Scripture and ours. They BOOED G-d, YOUR Christian beliefs, and without Jerusalem, what is left for either?
