All Freepers and lurkers in good standing are invited to join me this Sunday morning in a special Space Coast freep of President Barack Hussein Obama II.
Doors open at 8:30 a.m. at the Florida Institute of Technology venue, so I'll be setting up about 7 a.m. as folks will be arriving early to get in line.
When: 7 a.m. until after the event (freep 'em coming and going!) Sunday, September 9, 2012.
Where: Northwest corner of Babcock St. and University Blvd. Melbourne, Florida.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags, signs, water and sunscreen. (7-11 nearby for coffee, snacks.)
Parking: You're on your own.
As always the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
A couple signs I'd love to see several of displayed: Obama lied, NASA died
The One Big (DNC Jackass symbol) Mistake America

there are 56 other states (according to obummer) - why can’t he go else where?
Please remember to bring your videocameras or smartphone devices to capture, record and document the event.
Kristinn Taylor will join me on my radio show Friday night, Sept 7th at 9pm ET to talk about Sunday’s protest rally and how YOU can be involved.
The ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW
This should be funny. 830am on a Sunday morning and the semester just started.
Still out of town...sorry.
I hope you can get a big crowd!
Sorry I will miss this one...have fun and make a sign for me.
Empty chair ?
A large percentage of foreign students at FIT. I wonder if you will need a picture id to get in to see the One?
I bet they will need an ID.
Interesting that the Clemente Center at FIT only holds 3500.
So where will Air Force One be? Patrick or Melbourne? Not looking for a concrete answer, just guesses :)
I’ll see you there, bright and early!
Clinton has come to Patrick and the NASA area too.
He might be busing to/from another area where he is campaigning that day. Freep opportunities if you can figure it out!
You were right about the date...check Kristinn’s posts above for information and sign suggestions.
Wish we could be there, but out of state right now. Going to ping my Florida Freeper ping list in hopes many can make it on Sunday morning! Even if you don’t live in the Melbourne area if you know someone who does, please let them know about the Freep!
I know Florida Freepers can give Obama the kind of Florida welcome he derserves!! Have a great FREEP!!
As always, if you wish to be removed from my ping list just let me know through FreepMail. Thanks!
I have to work that day. However, the Mrs is intending to joint the Freep.
Thanks for pinging your list. Wish you could be here.
Looking forward to freeping with the missus. She might want to bring a chair as we’ll be there awhile.
Can you please bring your video camera?
hope there’s a great turn out. bttt
Folks were lined up almost to Babcock St. to get tickets this morning.
Thanks. Trying to get word out to the Space Coast Tea Party and 9/12 groups.
Please ping me in your report; would love to hear how it went!
Will do. We’ve already got some media interest. I just got off the phone with Florida Today.
CF13 TV News just mentioned that FR would be protesting 0bama’s event on Sunday. I’ll be there to join in the FReep along with Old Glory and hopefully some R/R signs & some hand made ones too. See you late morning.
take some EMPTY CHAIRS along !
See you Sunday.
That is pretty close to where we’ll be. The main intersection at FIT is at the gateway to crack-town. Best not to go East of Babcock (which runs north-south), especially onto University.
Today will start nice and dry with a lot of sunshine. Highs in the lower 90s. By this afternoon showers and storms will develop along west coast sea breeze and move inland. Rain will end along the east coast late this evening. Sunday, a low in the Gulf will get picked up along an approaching cold front. As the front moves in our chance of rain will jump to 60%. Rain will be heavy at times. Outdoor plans will be in much better shape today. Enjoy your Saturday! Track the changes in the 5 day forecast in the weather section of wftv.com more...
Thanks for the forecast. The weather should be okay in the morning with the rain moving in around 1 p.m.
My uncle lives in Melbourne . I’ll contact him about this .
Hoping for a great turnout!
Know McMuffin has some great contacts with the groups we Freeped with in Orlando and Titisville too. Maybe they will join you!
Will be looking for an after action report! :)
My plan is to be at the northwest corner of Babcock St. and University Blvd. at 7 a.m.
I checked out the area an hour ago. FIT has blocked off the parking lot behind the northwest corner.
I spoke to the cashier at the Mobil gas station. He said the station will be open to foot traffic Sunday morning for food/beverage sales and his restrooms will be open to customers.
On the other side of Babcock, the large parking lot for the new FIT building was open. It looks to me that will be the event parking lot. Hopefully our folks can park there also.
The church next door to that lot has already barricaded its parking lot, so that’s out.
There is no parking allowed on the service road that runs parallel to East University Blvd.
That’s all I know at this time.
Live Twitter feed, or whatever in the heck you call it. Some photos and short videos of protesters on this, if somebody can figure out how to post them here. I would, but have other obligations this morning, and gotta get off line.
Hopefully others will do the same wherever Obama goes between now and election day.
Short break in my business here and checked the Twitter feed for the event. Reporter covering protest outside says in his Tweet that there are more than 100 protesters now, on all 4 corners of intersection. Obama not to arrive for another hour and a half. Strong opposition to Obama down there. Good work! Will check back later...
headcount around 360.
Hey.... im a grad student at FIT.. :0(
Great! I’d love to hear a report on how the students felt about all the goings-on. There were a few foreign students about on Sunday who looked somewhat amused at what was happening. Hearing about their impressions would be nice too.
You were correct. There are many clueless foreign students. They are bright, but not politically engaged..
Yeah, with my left ankle torn-up, and a broken computer.
Tryin' to catch up now ........................................ FRegards
