Barack Obama: The Pawn Leading From Behind
Townhall ^ | August 21, 2012 | Katie Pavlich

When President Obama ran for office in 2008, many people believed he was a brilliant academic who would lead to bring people together, but a new book Leading From Behind by Richard Miniter, shows just the opposite. Miniter paints a picture of an Obama who doesn't lead at all, but instead is used as a pawn through which his many advisers push their own political agendas.

Take for example White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett. President Obama takes credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden while he hides Jarrett's efforts to stop the operation three times before finally giving the green light.

"At the White House, Obama advisers were told to 'interrogate the data' to disprove that bin Laden was in the compound," Miniter writes. "Eventually, a 'war caucus' emerged with Leon Panetta, Hillary Clinton, and Robert Gates favoring action of some kind. Jarrett opposed the idea. She worried about a backlash against the president if the operation failed, or even if it succeeded."

Obama was willing to cave to Jarrett's "concerns" on multiple occasions until Hillary stepped in with full force to urge Obama to move forward with the bin Laden raid. But of course, Obama's eventual decision to lead from behind on the raid, didn't come without some "hard thinking."

On the fourth attempt to either capture or kill bin Laden, the intelligence was better than ever, yet as Miniter writes, Obama still had Jarrett's doubtful words in the back of his mind.

“...many people believed he was a brilliant academic who would lead to bring people together...”

Why, hell! Our sissy illegal alien was on the golf course, yanked off to go to the war room, probably had to be shown where it was, sat there like a spoiled child who had to eat his brocolli, and pouted while Jarret gave HER permission for OBL's death.

And then this complete fool filled his "OBL take-down" speech with "I" and "me" like he did it himself.

Then you reflect that Lincoln's Gettysburg Address had about 272 words in it and there was not a single "I" or"me" anywhere to be found.

There have been a number of biographies about Barack Obama, but this is a different one. In this account, Obama is neither an extraordinary intellect nor a virulent ideologue, but merely an outwardly likeable front man for other powers. Here, he is proven to be a moody and indecisive public figure who’s largely left decision-making to his advisors. Three who figure prominently are Valerie Jarrett, Nancy Pelosi, and (to a lesser extent) Hillary Clinton. Nancy Pelosi was the real force behind the health care takeover, not Obama. Jarrett nearly overrode the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Hillary Clinton, the most pragmatic of the three, largely runs diplomacy, and has occasionally come into conflict with Jarrett.

If he wasn't a pawn he wouldn't have so adamantly refused to to give up his BlackBerry.

This is pretty much the image I have of him, too. He is a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist-Leninist, but he is no Lenin. (Thank God).

“If he wasn’t a pawn he wouldn’t have so adamantly refused to to give up his BlackBerry.”

Very good point. It’s dizzying to figure out who is pulling Obama’s strings on what day.

I’ve always thought he was an empty suit, handpicked by Soros and other nefarious characters.

The American Idol President.

Any one who heard Obama speak without a teleprompter should have known he is a street kid. I have no sympathy for those deceived by his speeches. When Obama went off campaign script to Joe the Plumber, using that redistributing wealth phrase, we were warned what the liberal platform was going to be.

This nation has allowed the marxist ideology to hold US hostage and nearly destroy the real independents, the middle class.

Yeah---so very true. All of the Ohaha henchmen got their act together----trying to look "harmless."

Axelrod is a reverse Clark Kent---a demonic, driven, hard-wired political operative who sneaks into a telephone booth before every TV appearance---and comes out looking like a mild-mannered "public servant"....just out for the good of Gotham City.

es out looking like a mild-mannered "public servant"....just out for the good of Gotham City.

"Trust me---I'm harmless."

The tattered remnants of the DEM convention bear all the earmarks of a Mc Govern or Mondale election debacle. Looks like Massachusetts is ready to put Ohaha over the top to historic defeat---ROTFLOL.

==============================================

Amazing that Team Ohaha still thinks fang-toothed snarling Michelle is a campaign asset----and did you notice the Team put the kibosh to any media comments on Moochelle's attire----an admission that America is sick of her and her clothes-obsession.

================================================

BTW, the NYT developed a severe case of editoial constipation when one nutsy cuckoo op-ed piece reported the rumor that Mitt Romney eats only the tops of breakfast muffins---apparently this makes him unfit to lead, according to the NYT.

That nugget of political perception was weird enough---but another Times writer claims Paul Ryan is the new "sex object" of Republicans.

I guess "sex expert" Sandra Fluck was consulted about that claim.

LOL.
