Romney revs up general election TV blitz

Mitt Romney’s campaign is gearing up for its first major television offensive since the Republican National Convention, laying down heavy-duty ad reservations in eight swing states, according to media-buying sources.

Romney’s campaign is buying time in Nevada, Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Virginia and Massachusetts — the last of those representing the Boston TV market, which covers much of New Hampshire.

Right now, the flights cover just four days: Friday, Sept. 7, through Monday, Sept. 10. But that’s unlikely to be the full extent of Romney’s advertising next week.

Romney’s ads are the first major use of the general-election money that his campaign and the RNC raised, and that Romney was unable to use before his formal nomination in Tampa last week.

Not included in the blitz, so far, are Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, three states Republicans would very much like to put in play, but where the party and its outside-group allies have not consistently been on the air.

No Wisconsin even with Ryan being from there? Is the Obama campaign spending money there?

I am concerned about Virginia with the late news of Goode making the ballot there. He will likely take lots from Romney and frankly.....likely means Obama has won Virginia. We must win other states.

Exactly Goode may end up as the single most important factor consting us continued loss of freedoms.
Thanks a bunch, Vigil.

Goode (for nothing) may cost us Virginia. Sickening. I am annoyed that they aren’t targeting Michigan. Obama is losing ground there. It’s now a swing state! Strike while the iron is hot!

I agree. We must find an alternative state and assume Virginia goes to Obama. Yes, we still fight for it but let’s not allow it to be a make or break state.

I think they will show up in Michigan eventually. Why tell the other team what you are going to do and where you will be? That’s not how a battle/war rolls...except in Obama’s military.
