I can tell I'm going to regret showing up here, it's one of THOSE topics... There's a lot of that going on, moreso in the last few years than previously it seems. I've run across Neal Adams' expanding planet ideas before and if it weren't for his ability to put the idea into motion and make everything fit so neatly together I'd be calling BS. I haven't given it a lot of thought simply because it's hard to get my pea brain around. The one truly puzzling thing I've run across about the "spreading" seafloors is that layers of sediment are thicker by several orders of magnitude on the newer seafloor than older seafloor. Something else I can't wrap my brain around.

Interesting that you get your science from a cartoon. Do you believe eating a whole can of spinach will give you superhuman strength?
