Wayne Allyn Root, 2008 Libertarian Party’s Vice Presidential nominee and political commentator, resigned this morning from the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) to, according to his resignation letter, “elect good people and change the direction of this country outside of a third party.”
In the letter to the LNC, which is available at Independent Political Report, Root explains that his decision much is not unlike those of previous Libertarian Party presidential candidates, including Ron Paul and David Koch; both of whom left the LP to become prominent Republicans.
When I asked if he was now backing Mitt Romney, Root responded, “I am,” adding, “I don’t deny that Romney and Ryan aren’t libertarians, but Romney is a pro-business capitalist and Obama is a Marxist-socialist.”

He KNOWS how bad it is and realizes we MUST defeat Obama.
So, next time, don't let the Libertarians run in Republican primaries.

Never thought I would support Romney. Never! I even find Palin too big-government. But I am giving my time and money to the Romney cause. We must defeat Obama and his hellish ideology. No other choice.
If Obama does not lose, it will all be moot anyway. Further, the tea party has effectively taken over the GOP at every level except the presidential nomination process this year. Why start one from scratch when you have basically co-opted one and you just need one or two more election cycles to take full control?
More importantly, who does he have in the Steelers-Broncos Sunday Night Game?

I think the others should be looked at quite carefully. Romney's beliefs do not vary much ~ if at all ~ from the run of the mill Libertarian anyway.
They were organized enough to suck in naive people like those we've learned to call Mittbots and run a hustle on the GOP-e ~ which was distracted by the TEAParty.
BTW, the Paul as stalking horse theory has been out there for several years ~ and there’s also the Michelle Bachmann “stalking horse” thesis ~ and I can’t help but noting that she actually left her childhood church to join a different one during the campaign ~ something highly unusual ~ and worthy of further examination in light of the outcome in the war for the nomination.

Johnson signed up ~ there are 13 candidates who announced besides the 3 lifelong Conservative Republicans.
And what was the vote total for all non-Paul LP candidates - was it really enough to make Romney's 22% look presentable?

hmm, Michelle ~ a tax lawyer ~ with friends on the inside of IRS ~ guess she’s privileged to believe anything she wants but she still has bills to be paid.
