Obama cuts unemployment rate from 8.3% to 8.1%!

That's all people will see, unfortunately.

I am pretty sure the real rate is around 20% if you count the drop outs and give ups. A million jobs in 4 years for another 4 trillion wont cut it. Obama is out of touch

Forcing workers out of the labor force is one hell of a way to reduce the unemployment rate. Whatever it takes I guess. Gotta do something to make Barry’s “numbers” look good. Big election comin’ up.

Do you understand how minuscule two tenths of a point is anyway? People see about 8% and couple with the lousy job report it's not good for Obama, and well US. We're suffering as well.

I think it would be entertaining, in a way, to hear their justification for simply excluding people from the denominator of the unemployment statistics.

They just DECIDED not to work any more?
Yeah, right.

Eventually, all unemployed ‘drop out’ of the work force, so when they all do, we will have 100% employment.............

I’m surprised the AP wrote an honest story on unemployment. If you go to the ABC site, they lead with “unemployment falling” and jobs being added, but only mention that it fell because people left the workforce in about the 10th paragraph — and then they quickly say “but this means the Fed will act to stimulate the economy.” The AP finally — finally — leads with the fact that these numbers suck and people are giving up hope.

They need to modify the questions on the survey for UI. Add if they are going on SS disability or some other assistance and that’s why they aren’t looking.

I have a feeling with the rapid disability rise lately that’s where a lot of it is going. So, in effect, things are FAR worse than they appear.

Wrong. The country's growing up. I called the 'so-called future improvements' a while back - when "Meet the Press' came up with charts... and the first ones showed how bad things were. Knowing Meet the Press is fed information by dem war room types. I assumed the fix was in and wrote about it. No way Meet the Press would come up with a devise that makes dems look bad.

Step two would be for NBC to show things are getting better then ask for Obama to finish the job. Sure enough - that was one of the themes of the dem convention.

Since honest people can't know the numbers ahead of time - or the direction - my guess is, on some level it's a lie.

Would that be a surprise. Dems showed us voter fraud from the stage of the convention. "All in favor... All opposed... They lied about that vote while it was being broadcast on national TV... How brazen is that? (Lucky for them the MSM didn't catch it)

Everything about democrats is a lie - from their paid trolls, rent a crowd tactics, to their suck up shills in the MSM. We're starting to 'get' who they really are...

It shouldn’t be a ‘survey’ at all.

Real numbers from the states unemployment offices can be used.

But they would never do that, as it would be too politically damaging..........for both parties........

State unemployment offices aren’t used for a good reason. If people stop getting benefits then they wouldn’t be counted. This way, with a random phone survey (which is how the BLS #’s have always been done) is probably the best way. They just need to tweak the questions.

Then they should survey the just ones whose benefits have run out and see how many have gotten work. Then couple that survey to the new applications numbers. That sounds simple enough......
