Clint Eastwood: “President Obama is the Greatest Hoax Ever Perpetrated on the American People”

AFTER A week as topic No. 1 in American politics, former Carmel Mayor Clint Eastwood said the outpouring of criticism from left-wing reporters and liberal politicians after his appearance at the Republican National Convention last Thursday night, followed by an avalanche of support on Twitter and in the blogosphere, is all the proof anybody needs that his 12-minute discourse achieved exactly what he intended it to.

“President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people,” Eastwood told The Pine Cone this week. “Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.”

Fortunately, Eastwood has enough stature to say what he believes and not be penalized for it.

It’s too bad it has to come to this.

Of course, the ‘treatment’ isn’t limited to Hollywood.

Here where I work, a university, I can’t BREATH a syllable of what I really think or I’d get my tires slashed and worse. So, I understand the many Conservatives in more visible fields who hesitate to speak at all. The intimidation is very real and increasing.

Good for Clint!

Though I reflexively love Clint’s movies, it took me a while to appreciate Josie Wales. Now it is a favorite. Filled with great actors and characters all showing the true nature of Americans, good and bad.

I think Clint did a great job; many of us could be more outspoken if our paychecks, pensions, etc. didn’t depend on it. Financially secure retirees are the last free people in this country; they are not penalized for their color/gender and can speak their minds without fear of repercussions.

"He’s going to get the ‘senile old man’ treatment now."

That label should be applied to Tom Brokaw. Brokaw said Eastwood had too many words at the RNC. Then the dope mistakenly takes an Ambien, and had to be taken to the hospital. Eastwood's more on the ball than Brokaw any day, and the libs hate it.

The blog edited the article. I was surprised on his views see below.

Eastwood is a liberal on social issues such as gay marriage and abortion, but he has strongly conservative opinions about the colossal national debt that has accumulated while Obama has been president, his failure to get unemployment below 6 percent, and a host of other economic issues.

So what? He’s 83 years old and has made two recent movies. Let the attacks on him begin... he doesn’t care nor do we. Clint Eastwood will always be Clint Eastwood and has tough skin and can handle it. We love the guy and always have.

Great comment! I thought the trail boss was a paragon of manlinessm toughness and virtue that once was the ideal for all men. Now, Hollywood and TV promote girlie men, weak characters, narcissism, and immorality.

Same here. I refuse to give the liberal left a cent at the box office. If it is worth seeing, I’ll wait for it to go on Netflix.

I missed Reagans funeral, I won’t miss Clint’s when his time comes. Have liked the guy since the early ‘60s.

Clint should have said that one sentence and walked off the stage.

No, he really couldn't. This was a very carefully scripted performance, and done that way for a reason. He played the role of a rambling old man in order to show that even a rambling old man can figure out what a fraud Obama is. It was done with some biting humor, for the purpose of turning an Alinsky tactic against Obama and the Dems.

FYI, I don't think for a minute that a guy who is producing and acting in movies like Clint has been is in the least bit senile - but a good actor can project about any image and get his audience to believe it.

The best thing he did was to definitively show that not everyone in Hollyweird is a foaming-at-the-mouth radical Leftist.
