Chill Pill: Jennifer Granholm Has a Howard Dean Moment at DNC
Townhall.com ^ | September 7, 2012 | Kate Hicks

Posted on 09/07/2012 7:08:28 PM PDT by Kaslin

Jennifer Granholm was Michigan governor from 2003-2011. During that time, the state experienced major economic decline, an unemployment level higher than the national average, and population loss. She was replaced by Gov. Rick Snyder, a Republican elected in 2010. Michigan has since begun to see its greatest level of economic development in a decade. No one misses her.

Of course, failed economic policies weren't any kind of dealbreaker for a speaking slot at the DNC; in fact, one might say they were a requirement. And all's the better that her delivery is in the style of Howard Dean. Yeaaaaah!

Jennifer Granholm DNC Speech Highlights: 'Rev Up Your Engines'

Maybe they should have considered choosing someone else to speak favorably about the bailout -- you know, maybe someone who didn't preside over the state during the auto industry's major decline. But hey, her unbridled enthusiasm for the president can't be beat, and that's getting tougher to find these days. Forward!

Update: Completely neglected to point out one of the best parts of this entire video: the woman in the crowd, cheering on Granholm's pro-bailout freak-out, who's holding...a Ford sign. Does it get more ironic?

Howard Dean was doomed because the national news covered it. Jennifer whatshername is no where on the news. I have not seen it at all and I watch Fox News pretty regularly.

The Friends featured it this morning showing the Dean Scream in comparison. It was pretty funny.

Thats what libs consider a success, otherwise she wouldn’t have been given a speaking spot.

Oh I bet that's true; the mindless leftism of academia is well-represented in AA (as you well know). But, there is more of an open atmosphere there than at other schools in that conservatives are not necessarily treated as if they're too stupid and ignorant to even speak with--as they are treated on many other campuses.

Another of my daughters graduated Cornell, and I DETESTED everything about that campus.

“MITT ROMNEY SAID LET THE CAR COMPANIES GO BANKRUPT!”

Uh, Jenny, they DID go bankrupt.

Her voice and her manner strike me as one of those “manly” women like Napolitano, but that’s just me (husband and children do not nullify that possibility, as we can see by Mrs. Clinton).

Under Granholm, it was Looney Tunes on the Mich Supreme Court. Contracts weren’t worth the paper they were printed on, and companies that tried to stand on their contracts were considered frauds. the damage to Michigan jurisprudence is immeasurable.

DManA, Your right, they did go bankrupt, but you'd be surprised how many people think they didn't because Obama “saved” them. This is a national issue not just Michigan and Romney needs to get on this.

Then again, I live in NY so I don't get any real campaign commercials or campaigning itself done here. So maybe it's out there. Is the former Gov stupid, just a flat out liar, or both?

I remember when she was first elected Governor. Democrats (and some Republicans) bemoaned the fact that she was born in Canada, because the “rising star” could never be President...
