I wish it was just stupid.
I have spent months presenting volumes of records of "misdeeds" by our Democrat rulers to my wife's uncle. Absolutely nothing makes an impression. My sources are suspect, or it just didn't happen, or "everyone does it". Or, if my evidence is just too rock solid, then I get either a flippant remark that has nothing to do with the subject, or I get no response at all.
These people don't need logic, or even counseling. Pharmacology is what they need.

I know people like your wife’s uncle. They choose their ideology over truth every time.
I still feel that choosing to reject facts and truth is stupid.
