Abortion Backers: Pro-Lifers Are Racist, Aborting Black Babies OK

What does racism have to do with being pro-life? Well, for many pro-abortion fanatics, it has everything to do with it. To them, minorities having more children and less abortions is a bad thing and racist.

It’s not racist, however, to target them for abortions. Mention that an overwhelming majority of abortion clinics are in urban neighborhoods, or that black women get a disproportionately higher number of abortions, and you’re racist. Show documented examples of racism at Planned Parenthood, and you’re racist.

Say you want to abort black babies because they’re ugly and will grow up to be murderers, however, and there’s not a peep.

In short, anything that hampers abortion is racist. Minorities getting a disproportionate number of abortions, though, is awesome! Only the white people should be having lots of kids, right?

Putting this attitude on display is Brian Fung at The Atlantic, who derides abortion bans as racist, because they would mean that minority women would not be able to have as many abortions. His argument is literally that it is racist for there to be less abortions of minority children.

[W]hatever you make of those topline numbers, one thing seems certain: an abortion ban would disproportionately affect women from non-white and low-income backgrounds.

… Non-white and low-income women aren’t so lucky. For them, an abortion ban would mean either carrying their unplanned pregnancies to term — something the NBER paper predicts could happen to some degree, and which would likely be exacerbated by conservative attempts to limit contraception access at the same time that they crack down on abortion — or resorting to unsafe, illegal abortions.

Go ahead and try to make sense of this argument. Being pro-life, and hoping fewer minority women have abortions – thereby leading to more minority children – is racist. Cheerleading the disproportionate number of abortions that minority women get, and the abortion clinics helpfully planted in minority neighborhoods, however, is not racist. It’s progressive! It’s choice! Fewer minority babies is good for them! And minority women need abortions, because they clearly can’t handle having children under any circumstances, with an exception for those who are absolutely perfect.

Same thing for poor chicks, too. Only rich white women can have babies at any time. Any other type of woman needs to have abortion readily available, because if they get pregnant, they have to have an abortion. Ban abortions, and they’ll resort to the old rusty coat hanger, because clearly a minority woman, or one with a lower income, can’t handle a baby. She couldn’t comprehend the option of adoption, either, clearly, so abortions are absolutely necessary. They’re so necessary in these situations that clinics are helpfully making sure they sprout up right in those neighborhoods, ready and waiting to make sure that minority women can kill their babies as soon as they get pregnant.

To me, that entire argument reeks of racism. Pro-lifers welcome the thought of more minority children being born. Pro-aborts, however, run screaming from the thought. Now explain to me which side comprises the real racists.

Soon, we will have the option to control our genes and thus take control of our physical beings and that of our offspring. What a Happy Thought - no more Libtard collectivists! Oops, those things will also have free choice, as will real people.

I'm familiar with Kurzweil and his co-transhumanists. It's not an ideology I embrace, but it seems destined to happen. Build the better human, the better society all through centralized planning and scientific consensus. Clones, artificial wombs, digitizing the human mind...but the soul is eternal & will always exist. New ideologies will form, be they "libtards" or not. Variation is the essence of life, despite attempts at conformity. Good and evil will battle for as long as the material world exists. I always fantasized human evolution would be spiritual one, not a mechanically/ genetically enhanced one. But to do that, we humans would all have to be on the same metaphysical plane, which is impossible.

An amazing number of high IQ women seem unable to count sufficiently to successfully use the Pill. Trust me on this.

I do. It's evident from my homepage I was one of those smart yet dumb females. I trusted in institutions that I shouldn't have. It wasn't counting that a problem, but the BC pills didn't "work" anyway. I was a naive woman-child who got pregnant, kept her baby, decided adoption was not the right option, and proved it by marrying her baby's father.

I was suggesting the gooberment be kept out of this decision loop.

I cannot agree. I--and millions others--believe abortion is the murder of a unique human life, one who temporarily shares the body of his mother. Those beliefs are due to natural law. According to theses laws, dismembering a fetus, dousing him an a chemical wash that burns him to death or vaccuum-sucking him out of the womb is killing a human being; no different than stabbing a twenty-year-old to death. States must prosecute murder, but if they refuse to do so, the Federal government may step in as due process is required when a person is deprived of their life. By "keeping out of this decision loop" the gooberment has made a decision to allow murder of a select group of humans.

... may I suggest that your well phrased “Societal suicide is the government paying, housing and feeding women who consistently have children out of wedlock.”, while accurate, be replaced with “Societal suicide is allowing government to subsidize industrial scale bastard farming.” I am not fond of euphemisms. “Bastards” is both technically and behaviorally more correct.

"Industrial scale bastard parenting" would be more accurate. As a teenager who got herself pregnant, the only bastards involved were my boyfriend and myself for acting in an irresponsible manner and not immediately rectifying the situation (getting married right away). Children should not be condemned or called names for the sins of their parents. When "bastard children" are adopted by couples, do they stop being bastards? Condemn the parents, not the children.

And then there's divorce...What makes a child of divorce more acceptable than a child born out of wedlock? Both children can suffer through no fault of their own. I detest divorce among married couples with children as much as I do out-of-wedlock births that do not result in marriage.

Anyway, I do appreciate your tone in this discussion. I may come off a bit shrill when it comes to the matter of abortion. But it's because I have seen so many women think they are making the right "choice," encouraged them not to, only to see the emptiness of their souls afterwards. Abortion is not in any way pro-woman.

P.S. No, any similarity between that pic and the photographer's are coincidental, but I remember that Halloween well. My daughter had a shiny metallic, white-handled cap gun that she adored, and at the last moment, I replaced it with an orange water gun. This was around the time fellow Long Islander John White was prosecuted for shooting a teen who threatened him outside his house. We were trick o' treating around that neighborhood, and I didn't think it wise to carry a "realistic weapon." That was another stupid move on my part and never heard the end of it. Rightly so.
