Villaraigosa on God, Jerusalem Vote: I Definitely Heard a 2/3 Majority

Was Villaraigosa living in an alternate universe at the DNC, too?  When the Democrats held a voice vote to modify the platform, undoing the omission of God and Jerusalem, chaos among the delegates ensued. It was clear to anyone watching that a 2/3 majority was not reached, even after three votes were held. After the first vote the chairman began to say,  “In the opinion of the…” then he realized ‘hey, wait a minute, that wasn’t a majority’ and proceeded to finish his sentence, “let me do that again.” He did. The same thing happened and he just stood there, completely bewildered. The third vote rendered the same result yet the chairman came to the conclusion that a solid majority in the affirmative had in fact been reached.

Now he’s following DWS’ lead who, in an interview with CNN, said that “there wasn’t any discord [during the vote]” and that “it was absolutely two-thirds” -- hence Anderson Cooper’s observation that she must be living in an alternate universe. Villaraigosa responds:

It was a lot of ado about nothing,” the mayor said Friday. Villaraigosa said that when reporters told him after the vote that they did not clearly hear two-thirds support, he responded, “That’s nice to know. I was the chairman and I did, and that was the prerogative of the chair.”

Villaraigosa noted that any delegate who objected to the process could have made a formal challenge within 10 minutes of the vote.

“Not one person objected. It’s more a media concern than a delegate concern. I can tell you this — the president of the United States said, ‘Wow.’ The president said, ‘You showed why you were speaker of the California Assembly,’” Villaraigosa said. “The president, the vice president, Mrs. Obama, all of them acknowledged the decisive way I handled that.”

This is laughable. Who do the Dems think they’re fooling? Watch the video again - the vote starts around the 2:00 mark:

Republicans need to follow Rep. Allen West’s lead on this one:

This matter would be settled if ANY reporter had the balls to ask the president point blank: Does he recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel?

Assuming he still talks to reporters, that is.

I will be furious if Romney fails to do so in the foreign policy debate.

No voice vote is particularly reliable, unless a volume meter could somehow be employed, and it was NEVER distinctly determined to be “two thirds” by any measure.

A voice vote is worth the paper it is written on.

But what the heck, the crows was all Democrat, so the outcome of the vote doesn’t much matter anyway. It gets predetermined at the top, and the herd ends up accepting it.

I can tell you this — the president of the United States said, ‘Wow.’

That settles it then.

There is no lie the Democrats won’t tell for Obama.

You're exactly right, and they do it with a straight face.

With DWS dancing around like Salome asking for John the Baptist's head, you had Villaraigosa up there moderating the convention vote and simultaneously managing to play the parts of St. Peter denying Christ 3 times as well as Pontius Pilate ~ followed up by the party parliamentarian standing behind him like Satan in a Mel Gibson movie putting words into someone's ear that will turn a bad situation utterly evil.

You expected to see a hand writing mene mene tekel upharison on the teleprompter ~

I don't know if the event was scripted by aliens from outerspace, or another acolyte of the antichrist, but it was one of the more unusual things I believe I've ever seen.

Maybe the "One Mighty and Strong" prophesy shared by the Mormons and the Branch Davidians was at work ~ we saw how Bill Clinton dealt with that the last time he was around.

Hmmmm ~ space aliens? This is a story for Discovery!

Who do the Dems think they’re fooling?

Themselves, I suppose. Villaraigosa is lying, as ALL Dem pols lie. The look on his face during the multiple votes tells you all you need to know -- that look of "OMG, seriously?" was perhaps the one HONEST moment during the freak show.

Villaraigosa said. “The president, the vice president, Mrs. Obama, all of them acknowledged the decisive way I handled that.”

Tony, you pathetic lapdog. They were all proud of the "decisive way" you ran roughshod over the real wishes of your constituents, in the name of political posturing!! Be a man, if you still remember how, and admit it.

The Democrats left God a long time ago. Look at DU or Kos and see how many posts ridicule and make fun of Christians. And of course, anything Israel does is evil, and “Oh, those poor Muslims- When will bigots stop misunderstanding them and their loving ways?”. Those are the people in the Democratic party these days, that’s their face.
