Fighting crime is a day-to-day effort; water is wet, ice is cold and the sun is hot. What a moron. Gun control, yea, good luck with the gang bangers who commit the vast majority of the murders over turf and drug distribution contol. As for anti-snitching, yea, sure. The gangs terrorize the neighborhoods, nobody in their right mind would snitch on a gangbanger and not have themselves, or family members, brutalized or murdered. 12,000 cops and 50,000 to 100,0000 gangbangers (they don’t know the real number).....you lose, Gary. A police state with military brought in to round up (kill as many as possible, first) gangbangers might subdue the problem for a while, but it will come back. Chicago is a wild west town, always was, always will be.

The first would require that Illinois firearm owners report when a weapon is sold, given away, lost or stolen. At the South Side event, McCarthy and Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez both said they are pushing for legislation that would require such reports.
“Now, that is not gun control,” McCarthy said. “That is simply telling us where your guns are.”
McCarthy said a second high-priority goal is to reverse a stubborn culture against snitching in neighborhoods where a fear of retaliation keeps potential witnesses from cooperating with police investigations. The police department expects to launch a campaign soon that would target that problem, he said.
OK, so how do you know where your gun is if it's been lost or stolen? He's a gun-grabbing moron. And most of us get paid for results, not "effort", so he must be a Democrat, too. (But that's redundant with "gun-grabbing moron", isn't it?) I am sooooo happy I don't need to work in Chicago any more!
But whatever you do, do NOT allow the citizens to possess the means by which to defend themselves.

We could make some progress in Chicago if we took the guns away from the public “servants”.
If Rahm had the political will and Garry McCarthy wasn’t such a tool....
They can fix this problem by picking up every gang leader and their next level of control by tossing them in jail and let them know NOBODY is getting out even if it takes 100 years until they get their gang members to stop the violence...
They have this brand new jail sitting empty...fill it up...feed them spam and jailhouse bread until they break...
