Villaraigosa platform flap now the subject of a campaign ad
September 7, 2012 | 3:48 pm

An awkward moment for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa at the Democratic National Convention has become the subject of a new television ad for a Republican congressman seeking reelection.

U.S. Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) announced that his re-election campaign has begun running a 60-second spot on Friday that shows Villaraigosa -- acting in his role as DNC chairman -- being booed by delegates after a trio of voice votes over changes to the Democratic Party’s official platform. Those changes included the reinsertion of the word "God" into one passage and a declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.

West campaign operatives said the ad is on cable but would not specify which stations. Campaign manager Tim Edson said the commercial, which is aimed at West's opponent, Democrat Patrick Murphy, shows that Democratic Party delegates had “three times denied God,” with a “befuddled” Villaraigosa presiding.

I love Allen West. I wish we had a whole lot more like him. He is not afraid and will not back down!

Mayor V. might be an Affirmative Action embarrassment to the Dems, but they really should be embarrassed by the warmed-over tripe served up by their AA president on his big night.

The fatal flaw of Affirmative Action was on full display during the Charlotte convention: it allows the bottom of the barrel to float to the top.

I know I am biased in my opinion, but I am certain that this video will resonate will most of the voters. IMO, the democrat rank and file will be disgusted.

Just as Peter denied Jesus three times, the Democrats denied God three times.

With respect, I disagree. Likening the Dems to the apostle Peter is giving waaaaayyy too much credit. It is more like the rejection of Jesus in front of Pontius Pilate(sp) - crucify.

Sorry. I don’t think the average person is going to know what that ad is all about. He needs to write what the vote was or include more of the stated proposal

If the RNC/Mitt/Republitard Establishment Moonbats had a pair between them (and were not so concerned with "OFFENDING" the Centrist/Mods/Undecided--whomever they might be) these girly-guy, wusses would take that ad (as is) and simply substitute Romney/Ryan for West and BLANKET the US with it.

Sadly, it ain't gonna' happen!

Why would this would be such a powerful and effective ad and help not only Mitt/Ryan, but all Republican Congressional Candidates

Nothing could show the Democratic party as an Communist Party group like denouncing God and showing their atheist demands like this video does.

Is that like saying that they float like turd which make good fertilizer; ergo they can lay claim to the most "fertile" minds to be found?

“Just as Peter denied Jesus three times, the Democrats denied God three times.”

I thought that exact thing when watching it happen live at the convention. Poor Ted Strickland, Ohio’s ex-governor looked like a deer in headlights.

Geez, talk about, ‘bad optics.’

Good ad, but another point to be made is that depite the desires of their own delegates, the Dem. leadership does whatever they want. How well will they represent you, an outsider?

Here’s the comment I left on the LAT article.

“At the next Demoratic National Convention, they can just roll out a golden donkey named Big Government to worship. Then 100% of the delegates will cheer like mad.”

There are only ten comments so far, so if you “like” it at the LAT, it will stay at the top to be seen by thousands of ‘Rats.

They stole an election right in front of the cameras. Right in front of God and everyone.
