The once mainstream media is increasingly despondent as its power to shape opinions and influence this election diminishes. My favorite of the moaning journalist cries was that of Walter Shapiro:
"This is worse than normal, a lot less fun, and it feels impossible for us to change the conversation," Walter Shapiro, who has covered nine presidential campaigns and now writes for Yahoo News and Columbia Journalism Review, told POLITICO.
The conversation is changing, but a entirely new crowd has a voice. Nothing better illustrates this than the emergence of a devastatingly new campaign symbol as an enduring meme, the empty chair -- the icon Clint Eastwood used at the RNC to signify our vacuous president.
The chair came to Eastwood in a moment of inspiration, just before he was about to go onstage at the RNC.
...he was taken to a Green Room, where Archbishop Dolan of New York sought him out to say hello. Then he was taken backstage to wait for his cue. And that was when inspiration struck.
"There was a stool there, and some fella kept asking me if I wanted to sit down," Eastwood said. "When I saw the stool sitting there, it gave me the idea. I'll just put the stool out there and I'll talk to Mr. Obama and ask him why he didn't keep all of the promises he made to everybody."

I doubt many will remember the words Mr. Eastwood said but they will remember that empty chair for a long time. Cudos to you Eastwood, once again larger than life.
You notice the panic setting in with the MSM types when a blogger can cause a delegate meltdown at the DNC over God and Jerusalem.
Throw in any number of things that the MSM would never have brought up this year and they are rightfully panicked.
They thought this whole election could spin on Bain Capital and tax returns. The American public would have none of it.
You just have to wonder just what the issues will be in the next 60 days that we don’t see being on the radar yet will pop up and bite the dinosaurs in the butt.

The MSM may be flummoxed over public opinion about their “American IDLE”, Obama, but when Romney takes office they will embark on a negative campaign about him which will make their war on Bush seem like a school picnic.
I see them giving double anal exams to everything that Romney/Ryan says, and does.
It will be “payback hell” for the sophmorish minds of the press.
If Romney ever plays golf, or takes a vacation, it will be amplified a hundred-fold, for payback’s sake.
Any previous Obama “accomplishments”, or executive orders overturned, will bring calls for impeachment, or worse.
And, of course, he’ll probably have race riots to contend with as the black messiah slinks away from the throne.
I hope RR have been eating their Wheaties, as they’re going to need them.
