Becaue Milquetoast Mitt doesn’t inspire confidence in anyone.

Here’s the kicker, when/if Romney loses the GOP elite/establishment will say it’s because he ran TOO conservative or some such shit.
They never learn! Never!

"Our problem in our country is not that we're not paying enough taxes," Mr. Romney said. "It's that we're spending too much money and the economy is not growing as it could and should."

Nobody cares about this crap, Mitt! Shut up about taxes and debt, and focus on jobs and energy prices!

I wish it was, but it’s not without merit. Romney’s soft-sell is not strong enough counter-action to the Team Obama lie-a-minute approach. Here’s a take that reflects my own thoughts...

I am very enthusiastic about the possibility of defeating Obama, in part because I want to 100% repeal Obamacare.

Romney is responsible for running a campaign that gins up and not tamps down enthusiasm, and step one is to STOP saying stupid things like he likes parts of Obamacare when 95% of his supporters and the majority of Americans already want it repealed; we need to hear why and how we should get rid of it. I cringed when I heard Romney say “repeal and replace Obamacare” in his convention speech, as if he needs his moderate-Mitt qualifier on it. I cringed further that he allowed the CBS folks to put up a headline that says he likes parts of Obamacare. UGGGGGHH! There is zero, nada, nothing good about Obamacare and the only ‘replace’ needed is a smoking hole in the ground. Apparently, my enthusiasm for this exceeds that of the candidate.

Romney Team shouldnt step on the story of what a rotten, dishonest, worthless, leftist, failed, jobkilling, marxist, arrogant, narcissist, jerkoff of a President Obama is, by feelign he has to be ‘fair’ to a side that calls him a murderer. lets compare the RNC softsell and the DNC hardsell, where they attacked Mitt mercilessly and went over the top to their base, while the RNC decided to have little in social conservative messaging, failed except in Ryan’s speech to go fullbore into Obama’s failures, and gave us feel-good-ism rather than conservatism … result: Obama lead Romney in the latest Ras poll by 4. Over-the-top gets the message through the media filter … soft-sell turns into dull dishwater that goes nowhere.

Clinton’s masterful dishonesty? Didnt see a blizzard of rebuttal press releases to that and the other DNC garbage.

The Obama team leftists want to destroy Mitt, attacking him personally incessently, while the Mitt team are using the failed McCain approach, being coy, subtle and not daring to rip the bark off of Obama’s thin skin and tell the story of exactly how and why Obama’s policies stink to high heaven.

I am so desperate to see Obama defeated, it pains me to see any setback in that quest. Wishing away Obama’s convention bounce doesnt mean it didnt happen. And that’s not the real concern. The real concern is this: The messages went head to head and the R&R message is not strong enough to overcome the media+Obama message.
Romney and Ryan are a good team, but the Romney team definitely need a wakeup call and its not defeatism to point it out: Romney’s campaign strategy of merely stating the economy is bad is not enough. He needs to go hammer and tong after failure after failure of Obama to make people tie their own misery and our failed to Obama’s actions.

I dont need a good campaign from Romney for ME … I’ll be voting no matter what to kick Obama out of office. But we need to work together to defeat Obama and R&R needs to sharpen up their game to get ahead of BO team.

Fall for what?

Romney is an autistic Gordon Gekko in magic underpants. He couldn't build a rapport with a god damn prostitute. You don't need anything but a couple functioning senses to figure that one out.

Maybe his essence plays better on Kolob but this guy is an alien to any American from any walk of life. But i'm sure if Howard Hughes was alive today he and Romney would get along splendidly.

Hey Walter, ANY GOP candidate, conservative or not, is going to get the same treatment by the MSM. They’re not going to treat Romney any different.

And what’s all this Mormon bashing in your post? What does that have to do with politics?

WOW! You're giving me flashbacks of how some of Sarah Palin's supporters treated others who disagreed.

They were Palin's own worse enemies.

You going to throw this would be voter for Romney off the Romney ship?

Go ahead punk, MAKE MY DAY

What she, Christie at the beach said ...
43 Oh, goodness, stop blaming conservatives and free speech. Blame the party; maybe he can pull out a good debate but you are dealing with people who seem to want a government safety net. Those people are being indoctrinated every day.

Sun Tsu, The Art of War, paraphrasing ...
Shape the battlefield first.
The battle is won before the first shot is fired.

Continuing reasons why Romney will lose ...
"Republicans Lose Ballot Lawsuits as Swing-State Rulings Loom"

17. Demogrpahics shifted past the tipping point in 2011 - 50% of all U.S. live births were non-white. Faux News mouthpieces continue to tell us we are a center-right nation but the evidence no longer supports it.

18. JournOlists keep telling us that ~50% of tax filers either pay no taxes or receive some federal entitlement.>/b>

19. Dick Morris continues to say Romney is ahead.

20. Retired General Electric CEO, Jack Welch, and Donald Trump (yeah, I know, whose side is he really own? - answer = his own. Haven't heard "the Donald" watching Sheriff Joe Arpaio's back in AZ lately, have you?) both said this summer that Romney needs a major league shake-up of his campaign team because his insider cronies just weren't getting the job done.

63 RDangerfield said People keep mentioning swing states. Here are the latest average of polls in all 11 “swing states” as recorded in RCP ... Who knows?

... and BHO was slightly ahead in all 11 after the Ryan "bump". As pointed out, these margins are much less than the 2008 election results. So there remains a ray of hope that Romney will close the gap. The election is 58 days out. Will Romney get tough or will he lay down like John McCain in 2008? Looking at past performances all the way back to 1994, Romney only got rough on his GOP opponents in the 2012 primary. He once said in MA that the "R" behind his name was for "reform". Would like to see more reports from Freepers in the swing states about the Romney TV ads they are seeing. Previous posts on FR generally gave the ads "weak" grades.

>> I hope all the virulent Romney-haters are happy, stay home, vote third party,

It’s a problem.

It should be easy to demonstrate that a Republican White House would be far better for both Life and Liberty.

In light of the moral dilemma, Romney’s antagonists must not ignore the consequences of permitting another Obama term.

If just one nascent life is spared by virtue of a Romney victory, isn’t that worth the vote?
