In discussions with socialists, I find that most are completely blinded by the idea of “fairness.” They, of course, are the sole arbiters of the definition of “fairness.” It is impossible to discuss anything rationally with them, because they are so focused on the idea that someone somewhere has more than they do and that is not “fair.”

Much to your dismay, even a capitalist with the best intentions can be corrupted, just like anyone else. Just like government, it requires checks and balances to keep them honest, or they will run amuk, like they are doing today. Capitalism is the best system going, but we need to keep an eye on it. Once the too big to fail corporations get in bed with the government (i.e. GM) everything goes downhill from there.

Precisely why GM should have been broken up.

“Free-enterprise/capitalism is not only moral, it is the adult economic system. Socialism is the economic system for children.”

Forget the “Mommy” and “Daddy” party distinction. The Republican Party is the adult party and the Democrats are children. Bill Clinton’s presidency was successful only because after he tried at first to govern as a child (pushing through higher taxes and Hillarycare), the Republican House forced him to govern largely as an adult, culminating in welfare reform and a boom in economic performance. Dems then turned around and took credit for his successes, which itself is merely further proof of their childishness.

I agree, we need to watch Government just like we would watch for rattle snakes out on the prairie, The reason i don,t say nothing about the corporations is that they do not represent me and are not expected to, they are expected to watch out for them selves just like you or me.

If we did not have crooked or weak politicians the big corporations could not get in bed with them, but too many people in Government are looking out for them selves rather than working for us as they were hired to do.

could not get in bed with them
