The #1 bit of wisdom that I gleaned from George W. Bush was not to pay attention to the “tick-tock” of a 24x7 media. I was never one to look at the scoreboard in business anyway, but that resonated. Libs are 100% poll-driven and look at what that has produced.

Actually, Bush spent his entire second term letting the media define him because he didn't have to face another election. That was a colossal betrayal of his responsibilities. His lack of interest in challenging them is one of the key things that gave us Obama. And it is still letting them escape blame four years later. It cost republicans the congress, too.

Even if you are well ahead, doing nothing is a sure recipe for defeat. You can't assume people know anything, you have to keep communicating it.
