It took less than 24 hours for the Chicago Teacher’s Union to start using kids in their strike protests.

Nice to see how radical the teachers who teach America’s children really are. Communists.

Just to be clear... this strike isn’t about a PAY RAISE.

It’s about eliminating TESTS as a way of judging a TEACHER’S PERFORMANCE.

Teacher wearing a Che T-Shirt = FIRED

Unfortunately, we have allowed public schools to be breeding grounds for communist scum unions and all too many willingly send their kids and grand kids to be brainwashed.

This is the one area left where we can still take a stand. If you have the means and or the time, make sure you do not send your kids/grand kids to these communist indoctrination centers. Private school if you can afford it or home school if you have the time and ability or at the bare minimum a charter school which can be closed if they do not achieve basic standards.

If those of us on the right cannot take this much control over our kids then we should not complain when the communists complete the takeover as outlined in the communist manifesto.

AND get 3 months off each summer. Yet they produce students that can't read or make change for a Dollar.

I think back to when I was still able to work. I busted my ass for about $30 grand a year running a high speed web printing press.

Protest chant: “We don’t care if your kids are fools, we send ours to private schools!”

The average teacher salary in Chicago was $74,839 for the 2011-12 school year, according to the district. The total salary increase would equal $380 million over four years. That includes "modified step increases that both reward experience and provides better incentives for mid-career teachers to help keep them serving in the Chicago Public School system," according to a news release from the school system.

they want an addition 4% per year.

I would be surprised if they didn’t.

BTW, how long before your kids come home with an assignment to write a report about the strikers and their demands??

I’m sure there are plenty of qualified individuals who could run the schools and teach the students. Fire all the striking teachers and start from scratch. Let them see first hand what the rest of the country is going thru under Dear Leader.

Yep! The city offered a 16% pay raise over 4 years if the teachers accepted increased autonomy for school principals and evaluations of their performance.

The teachers' union decided that an average pay of $86,876 plus benefits for 9 months of work isn't worth the risk of being held accountable for one's performance.

• • •

"Hey, here's a job that requires you to use the knowledge you accumulated getting your college degree. If you do good work, we'll pay you $9650 per month plus benefits, but if you don't do good work, we'll fire you."

The above is what those @$$holes are so outraged by that they're striking. Meanwhile, the average person making less than that would be all over that offer like hairspray on Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Unbelievable.

It couldn't be their own kids. Teachers send their kids to private school.

just looked up the demographics of the Chicago system.

Over 85% of the teachers are black or Hispanic, 82% are female, and only 8% of the students are white.

No demographics on how many of them are obese, but from all the photos and video footage over the last few days, obesity is rampant among their ranks (where is Moochelle?)

Their union bully leader is a disgrace. She epitomizes the entitled queen with a chip on her shoulder.

And yes, that's really her.

Her salary is a better kept secret than the Manhattan project. I am guess over $400,000 (before kick backs).

Anybody know?

It sounds like some administrators need to be on the choping block too. They are indeed responsible for making sure they have a qualified crew and need to be speaking up if they have legal/etc. roadblocks to getting it done. We recalled our entire school board some years ago when they got too friendly with the administrators. Heads/knuckles/butts have to occasionally be kracked to keep everyone honest in any system.

Considering that the original pay increase was 30% and they are now down to 16%, I’d say that the teachers won the battle over the pay increase.

And they snubbed their noses at a 16% pay raise offer and are demanding 35% And, of course, His Majesty is siding with his union buddies.

I’d believe the data in post 19.
I’ve seen a lot of picketing photos and most were white.
Let’s see the source for your 85% black/hispanic number.
