I don’t think it matters if she is 1/32 or 0/32 Cherokee. 1/32 Cherokee means:
1) she is only 3% Cherokee; in other words 97% NOT Cherokee.
2) Her Cherokee ancestor DIED well over a hundred years ago (in fact, about the time of the Civil War, by my calculations).
None of that should qualifies her for special privileges; none of that would cause her to be discriminated against; none of that should have caused her to need an extra helping hand in life.
3% or 0% Cherokee—who cares! The point is that any system that allows someone like Warren to claim special privileges based on race is a sham.
She has no Cherokee ancestor. She has an ancestor in the Tennessee militia who put them on the Trail of Tears.

True. But we want to keep this issue alive. The media here, aside from the Herald and talk radio, won’t mention it.
That’s the BIA minimum standard for tribal identity. It’s astounding to me as it seems even 1/4 native heritage should mean very little.
Not just race, but gender, income class, and political influence. Our system is a sham, due to the corruption of it.
I think the problem (the corruption,scam) comes from the fact that the people we pay to protect us in front of the ‘law’(court), The LAWYERS, figured out that they could make even more money if they also MADE the laws.
