Despite labeling Iran’s nuclear program as a “critical threat” to U.S. interests, a clear majority of Americans oppose a military strike against Tehran and support a policy of UN sanctions and diplomatic dialogue. The new annual poll published this week by the Chicago Council for Global Affairs on American attitudes towards foreign affairs – dubbed “Foreign Policy in the New Millennium” - found that 70% of Americans oppose a strike on Iran that is not authorized by the UN Security Council, and 51% are opposed even if the UN body does sanction the attack. In addition, 59% of Americans are opposed to US intervention on behalf of Israel in case of Iranian retaliation for a preemptive Israeli attack.

He’ll try to spin it on Muslims’ reaction to some film that tells the truth about Islam. This is just a wild guess, of course!

It has to be something that Sunnis and Shiites are split over. That's the whole point of attacking Syria and Iran - weakening the two big governments run by Shiites.

Syria has a lot of Sunnis and is in the middle of a civil war, so that will be an easy one. Iran, not easy at all. Obama and his cronies probably think they can beat Iran with a few days of bombing and missile strikes.

It’s a Chicago poll, and The Forward has long been a left wing rag..IMHO, it’s less than accurate.

Agitprop alert. Poll results are worthless. What were the questions and how were they worded?

Because sanctions worked so well in Iraq. To kill babies with diarrhea, but little else.

I must be a “1” cause if it were up to me,
Iran would be a smoking crater already.
