Caddell On Romney: "This Is The Worst Campaign In My Lifetime" (video)

"I swear to God, everything we have been saying for months, and I know a lot of the audience doesn't want to hear this, this is the worst campaign in my lifetime," Democratic pollster Pat Caddell said on the Monday edition of FOX News' "Campaign Insiders" web show. "A challenging campaign, with a chance to win. They have set themselves on a course that says, 'We don't have to do anything, we're going to win because they don't like the other guy.'"

"That 50% approval rating -- if the president is at 50% approval, it is hundreds of millions of dollars raised and spent by Republican and conservative consultants and organizations have failed. They have failed because they have no real credibility as a message. If he's at 50%, somebody needs to sit down and rethink," Caddell said.

"Republicans have no response mechanism. Hundreds of millions of dollars, they're still not on the air explaining to people that with the labor participation rate, if it was the same as he came into office the unemployment would be 11.2%. There is a missing case and I watched Romeney yesterday, I watched Romney yesterday, I swear to God, there is no urgency to this man. He is running, as I said this morning, bored," Caddell observed.

Newt has the guts to mock and ridicule BO because that’s what he needs. Romney doesn’t

Indeed.

And yet, they are repeatedly defended when they do so.

What if we had refused to accept McCain in 2008 and voted en masse for a more conservative candidate?

To use an analogy, we keep guaranteeing evil every time we buy into the lie that we are doomed to only vote for Sauron or Saruman-—so we miss the opportunity to choose Gandalf or Aragorn.

The ABO vote isn’t enough. Romney needs to give people a positive reason(s) to vote for him.

Agree!

Caddell is fun to listen to slicing on dems, but he obviously has an axe to grind here. No way this is the worst campaign, we have to look to mclame and carter and Caddell was Carter’s guy.

The nobama campaign and the DNC must be who he’s talking about with all the muslim lovey-dovey, anti-American ploys, God hate at the convention, hating Isreal and the latest, the DNC’s big screen Salute to Vets (must have been saluting ruski vets) considering the ships on-screen were the Russian Black Sea Fleet not US ships.

I agree, GG.

We all keep waiting for his the big GOP offensive to start. It should’ve started the day after his nomination.

Levin two minutes ago; “Romney, will you please get your ass in gear? Obama has his brass knuckles on and we’re running around with boxing gloves on. Let’s get goin’ here.
Show some confidence and strength. Everything is on the table”.

Pat IS a Dem, however he and 2 other fellows Citizen United have teamed up to make an ANTI-Obama movie called The Hope and The Change. Just released.

‘The Hope and the Change’: New Citizens United Movie Blasts Obamawww.

Aug 21, 2012 – The movie’s creators do not wish the president well. ... He contracted with Pat Caddell, the Democratic pollster and adviser to former president ...

He very much wants Romney to win.

Romney being the nominee is not the sign of his campaign or RINO success. It’s the sign of conservatives’ failure to unify behind one candidate against him. This is a fact. He’s the nominee and will not drop out. Get over it.

Caddell is a Dem. I doubt he wants Romney to win..once a Dem always a Dem

this is the worst campaign in my lifetime," Democratic pollster Pat Caddell said

Caddell must have been out of the country four years ago when John McCain ran. But to hear a Dem pollster critique the Romney campaign this poorly is actually quite encouraging. You never heard a peep out of the Dems about how awful McCain's campaign was.

Caddell is an honest lib who has been highly critical of Obama these past 4 years. He has been straight up with the destruction that Obama has layed out on the land and wrote an highly critical essay against Obama last year.

I’m just thinking how psyched I would be if Gingrich was the GOP candidate. Can you imagine how Gingrich would be skewering that piece of sh** Ubama every single day, relentlessly, mercilessly? But no... The GOPe wanted the liberal milquetoast Romney. Whatcha see is whatcha get. But he’ll lose “honorably”, like McCain.

/facepalm

Yeah but to call this the worst campaign ever, I dont know if thats true..I thought the McCain campaign playing nice nice with Obama was the worst campaign ever so I doubt Romney has topped McCain. The issue with Romney is, like McCain, is afraid to really call Obama the Commie pig that he is, afraid of being called a racist, its the same issue McCain had. I say that Romney needs to go for it, call Obama what he really is and stop worrying about what others think. The media wont be voting for him, neither will Obama surrogates, just say it

Caddell is one of the dying breed known as “old-fashioned Democrats”, and he is one of the few with the integrity to stand up and admit he is disgusted at how his party has been turned over to the communists and America-hating goofballs.

ABO (anybody but Obama) apparently has been maxed out as I have claimed for quite awhile, that it can only go so far. 45% to 46% is totally against Obama but that is about the ceiling and Romney has not closed the case on why people ‘should’ vote for him.

Pat Caddell is a Conservative Democrat but outside of that one of the most astute political operatives out there.
He is telling it like it is.

Romney needs to get off his duff like he did midsummer when he heard the “you didnt build that” comment and go on the offensive. Whoever has his ear has him running out the clock and its not good. Its just inside 2 months before the election for crying out loud.

My mom is a recruiter for medical sale and engineering.

She told me that there have been huge layoffs now at Johnson and Johnson as a result of the medical device tax.

Obama is devastating the health care industry and other industries which support it.

My question to her is I wonder how many of those laid off voted for Obama and will do so again...

I believe the reason it is so hard for the so-called experts to put together tough, hard-hitting adds is because they stand for absolutely nothing, and they have utterly no idea what is going on in this country. They are expert in nothing, they are morons.

I do disagree with Pat that Romney’s is the worst campaign, I agree with you that McCain was much worst but hopefully Romney wake up from Cadells honest and frank talk to wake up and that he realizes that the Presidency isn’t going to be handed to him and he needs to be more proactively attacking Obama instead of reacting to Obama
