Hillary Doubled Down on Egypt 'Apology'
Breitbart ^ | September 12, 2012 | Joel B. Pollak

Posted on 09/12/2012 5:53:12 AM PDT by Unam Sanctam

For the second time in as many weeks, the State Department has contradicted President Barack Obama, as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton re-affirmed the apologetic stance disavowed earlier this evening by the White House in reacting to the storming of the U.S. embassy in Cairo by a mob of radical Egyptian Al Qaeda sympathizers on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Clinton's statements on the day's events, released through the State Department's website and Twitter feed, condemn "in the strongest possible terms" an attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya in Benghazi that left one American dead, but offer no condemnation of the attack on the U.S. embassy in Cairo.

Instead, Clinton reiterates an apology issued earlier today by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo--now deleted--which said: "We condemn the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims."

"The U.S. deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others," Clinton said. "Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation," she added.

However, the White House has distanced itself from such apologies, according to Politico, saying that they were not "cleared by Washington."

Evidently, there is some discord in Washington.

Obama doubled down, too. Earlier on Fox they read his statement about the ambassador’s death. He managed to squeeze in another bit about tolerance for religions.

Jimmy Carter looks like Churchill compared to this SOB.

Islam sucks.

Mohammed was a pedophile.

Just look at the horrifying conditions in which Islam’s billions of adherents live. Your religion begets your society, and muslim societies suck everywhere, 100% of the time.

The Koran states that Mohammed married Aisha when she was 6 years old, and consummated the relationship when she was 9 YEARS OLD. That’s pedophilia in any society in any era.

Islam sucks. Mohammed was a pedophile.

In the United States, we have a perfect First Amendment right to say what we think. I don’t much care whether Muslims are offended by what I think or say.

We also have a perfect Second Amendment right to help ensure the validity of our First Amendment rights.

I don’t believe Hillary is planning on running for president again. Thus, the Clinton’s only goal left in life is to get even with obama. The Clinton’s always get even. And they hate obama with a passion.

Ever heard of the “October Surprise” with Reagan and making an agreement with the Iranians to hold the hostages until after he took office?

When that claim was first made, everyone thought it was just the fringe lunatics on the left.

Then over time it became mainstream with the help of the MSM and there was even an investigation by a dem congress.

People on the left still believe it.

The exact same thing happened with 9/11 and “Bush knew”.

It's not intended to help Zippo in this election but to help Hillary in the next election.

Everything Hillary said this morning has already been proven to be a lie.

Go to breitbart.com

Libyan security told the mob where to find him.

She’s been caught in a bold faced lie.

The full text of the statement:

Yesterday, our U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya was attacked. Heavily armed militants assaulted the compound and set fire to our buildings. American and Libyan security personnel battled the attackers together. Four Americans were killed. They included Sean Smith, a Foreign Service information management officer, and our Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens. We are still making next of kin notifications for the other two individuals.

This is an attack that should shock the conscience of people of all faiths around the world. We condemn in the strongest terms this senseless act of violence, and we send our prayers to the families, friends, and colleagues of those we’ve lost.

All over the world, every day, America’s diplomats and development experts risk their lives in the service of our country and our values, because they believe that the United States must be a force for peace and progress in the world, that these aspirations are worth striving and sacrificing for. Alongside our men and women in uniform, they represent the best traditions of a bold and generous nation.

In the lobby of this building, the State Department, the names of those who have fallen in the line of duty are inscribed in marble. Our hearts break over each one. And now, because of this tragedy, we have new heroes to honor and more friends to mourn.

Chris Stevens fell in love with the Middle East as a young Peace Corps volunteer teaching English in Morocco. He joined the Foreign Service, learned languages, won friends for America in distant places, and made other people’s hopes his own.

In the early days of the Libyan revolution, I asked Chris to be our envoy to the rebel opposition. He arrived on a cargo ship in the port of Benghazi and began building our relationships with Libya’s revolutionaries. He risked his life to stop a tyrant, then gave his life trying to help build a better Libya. The world needs more Chris Stevenses. I spoke with his sister, Ann, this morning, and told her that he will be remembered as a hero by many nations.

Sean Smith was an Air Force veteran. He spent 10 years as an information management officer in the State Department, he was posted at The Hague, and was in Libya on a brief temporary assignment. He was a husband to his wife Heather, with whom I spoke this morning. He was a father to two young children, Samantha and Nathan. They will grow up being proud of the service their father gave to our country, service that took him from Pretoria to Baghdad, and finally to Benghazi.

The mission that drew Chris and Sean and their colleagues to Libya is both noble and necessary, and we and the people of Libya honor their memory by carrying it forward. This is not easy. Today, many Americans are asking – indeed, I asked myself – how could this happen? How could this happen in a country we helped liberate, in a city we helped save from destruction? This question reflects just how complicated and, at times, how confounding the world can be.

But we must be clear-eyed, even in our grief. This was an attack by a small and savage group – not the people or Government of Libya. Everywhere Chris and his team went in Libya, in a country scarred by war and tyranny, they were hailed as friends and partners. And when the attack came yesterday, Libyans stood and fought to defend our post. Some were wounded. Libyans carried Chris’ body to the hospital, and they helped rescue and lead other Americans to safety. And last night, when I spoke with the President of Libya, he strongly condemned the violence and pledged every effort to protect our people and pursue those responsible.

The friendship between our countries, borne out of shared struggle, will not be another casualty of this attack. A free and stable Libya is still in America’s interest and security, and we will not turn our back on that, nor will we rest until those responsible for these attacks are found and brought to justice. We are working closely with the Libyan authorities to move swiftly and surely. We are also working with partners around the world to safeguard other American embassies, consulates, and citizens.

There will be more time later to reflect, but today, we have work to do. There is no higher priority than protecting our men and women wherever they serve. We are working to determine the precise motivations and methods of those who carried out this assault. Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior, along with the protest that took place at our Embassy in Cairo yesterday, as a response to inflammatory material posted on the internet. America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear – there is no justification for this, none. Violence like this is no way to honor religion or faith. And as long as there are those who would take innocent life in the name of God, the world will never know a true and lasting peace.

It is especially difficult that this happened on September 11th. It’s an anniversary that means a great deal to all Americans. Every year on that day, we are reminded that our work is not yet finished, that the job of putting an end to violent extremism and building a safe and stable world continues. But September 11th means even more than that. It is a day on which we remember thousands of American heroes, the bonds that connect all Americans, wherever we are on this Earth, and the values that see us through every storm. And now it is a day on which we will remember Sean, Chris, and their colleagues.

May God bless them, and may God bless the thousands of Americans working in every corner of the world who make this country the greatest force for peace, prosperity, and progress, and a force that has always stood for human dignity – the greatest force the world has ever known. And may God continue to bless the United States of America.

Thank you.

Now, I would have wished that no reference had been made to the issue that was a pretext in Egypt for the actions that were done in concentrated terroist force in Lybia, but I listened to the whole Clinton address and her sentences immediatly following reference to religous tolerance were firm counter point and firmly delivered.

Other Democrat SOS like Halfbright have not spoken as well or as measured and its obvious State staff tried to get the statement right to walk back from the stupidity of yesterday.

The issue from yesterday still stands but Hitlery did not make it worse. The issue now is what is the response and Breitbart should be focusing on that.

“How could this happen in a country WE helped liberate”?

The answer of course is it must be some “OUTSIDE” group.

Her little speech is designed to blame some “OUTSIDE” group that is against the Obama administration.

Hillary is laying the groundwork for the rumor mill to blame Romney and the repubs.

She did the same thing when she held up a newspaper saying “BUSH KNEW”.

Hillary isn't as smart as she thinks she is.

Just read her statement and you can see she is laying groundwork to start the left wing rumor mill rolling that it was an outside group.

She made the comment “how could this happen WE help liberate these people”.

We being the Zippo administration, so it must be someone outside responsible.

Oh how funny. You can’t read. I was not denigrating FReepers. Only Romney Lovers. So I guess you must be one of those old Romney lovers you forced upon us. I have zero respect for anyone who loves a liberal by the name of Romney. Pay attention to my posts from now on before you start saying I say this and that.

Excuse me Mrs. Clinton, but your statements “require a willing suspension of disbelief”.

Sound familiar does it?

Exactly five years and one day ago HRC threw these words at General Petraeus in the prelude to her presidential campaign.

Clinton: Believing Petraeus and Crocker requires ‘willing suspension of disbelief’

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2008, opened her questioning of Petraeus and Crocker with the standard “I honor you for your service.” And then she let the two of them have it.

“You have been made the de facto spokesmen for what many of us believe to be a failed policy” in Iraq, Clinton said. “Despite what I view is your rather extraordinary efforts in your testimony both yesterday and today, I think that the reports that you provide to us really require a willing suspension of disbelief.”

Clinton added that “any fair reading of the advantages and disadvantages accruing post-surge, in my view, end up on the downside.”

Clinton then pivoted to Osama bin Laden, pointing out that on the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, he still has not been killed or captured. The New York Democrat said she started her morning at “Ground Zero” in New York City, where the names of the victims of the 9/11 attacks were read out.

“We have seen Osama bin Laden on television sets, essentially taunting us,” Clinton said. “And we get very little comfort from the fact that the mastermind of that mass murder is at large, neither captured nor killed, and that the Taliban and al Qaeda are resurgent in Afghanistan, and their network is certainly, if not tightly organized, a loose confederancy that has great consequences for us.”

Clinton then relayed a litany of problems in  and with Iraq, including as always for Democrats, the lack of political reconciliation there before offering a backhanded slap at both Petraeus and Crocker.

“I give you tremendous credit for presenting as positive a view of a positive a view of a rather grim reality,” Clinton said. “I know that you and certainly the very capable people working with both of you, were dealt a very hard hand. And it is a hand that is unlikely to improve, in my view.”

Clinton then pressed Petraeus for a “very specific answer” on the failure of the Maliki government to reach political agreements to end sectarian violence.

In addressing Crocker, Clinton said, “It’s not only the Iraqi government that has failed to pursue a coherent strategy. I think our own has as well.”

When Clinton was done, many of the reporters and about two-thirds of the audience left.

I have read some references to Libyan AQ groups responding to a request from AQ groups raising hell about the number 2 guy that Obama hit with a drone Saturday being the organized force that hit the Libyan Embassy.

It seems to me that if the rabble in Egypt was organized by social media input, then it was the pretext to hide the retaliatory hit in Libya— not a compatable “street” mood issue that was easily exploited as in Egypt. In Lybia, it was more of a milita raid with rockets etc. rather than a mob being primed by behind the scene forces.

While it is useful to analyze the administration push to show a good muslim world, and all the falicies in that, it is not too useful if we don’t understand what Al Qaeda and its arms are operating within.

That’s because liberals are racists. Here’s their thinking:

Egypt = 3rd world = children

Muslim = 6th century religion = people oppressed by oil companies, the west and those Jews = good

Therefore someone is making fun of “good children” that need more liberal care.

We’re not Romney lovers naps. We’re realists. I voted for the big government hack Gingrich only because the conservatives were out of the running by the time the primary reached Florida.

And I have been following yours and other Romney bashers and your act is old. You are mostly doing your part to support Obama by constantly using terms refering to FReepers as “Romney Lovers.”
